When questioned by Stewards in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance, Apprentice N. Fazackerley advised that the mare travelled well until it was placed under pressure near the 400m at which point it failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be exhibiting a poor post-race recovery.
