When asked to comment on the performance, rider R Maloney stated instructions were to hold a forward position, however the mare was unable to muster the necessary speed and settled in a midfield position and when placed under pressure was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities, and a post-race swab sample was taken.
