Raced in restricted room approaching the 1000m. Held up for clear run on entering h/straight until leaving 200m. Rdr questioned re tactics, in particular riding round h/turn where it appeared there was an opportunity to improve to the outside when there was sufficient room to do so which would have availed clear running in h/straight. Inquiry adjourned.

Began awkwardly. Rdr reported that whilst it was the intention to race in a forward position, however, after pressuring the gelding to cross from a wide alley, it then commenced to over race and for this reason was obliged to lead the event which was not the intention.

Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When asked to comment, Rdr stated gelding did not begin well and after being caught wide, elected to allow mount to stride however noted the gelding was inclined to lay in throughout which had an effect on its finishing effort. A post race vet exam revealed the thumps.

When asked about performance, Rdr reported that after being restrained early to a rearward position in an attempt to find cover, the gelding then came off the bridle and never travelled comfortably from that point onwards. A post race vet exam revealed no abs.
