Trainer L Kelly was asked to explain the seemingly improved performance. He indicated that as the mare has been over-racing he applied a crossover noseband at the horses most recent start and whilst the horse still over-raced he was not dissatisfied with the performance. He added that in todays event BECANDLENI was able to settle and as a result ran on strongly.

Jockey S Collett reported that after racing wide during the early stages she permitted her mount to stride forward to the lead passing the 1500m. Trainer M Hoysted advised stewards that, in his opinion, the slow tempo and being forced to lead had a detrimental effect on the overall performance. He also added that the horse may not run out a strong 1800m. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities
