Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 900m. Jockey J Byrne advised that despite settling further back than he anticipated, the gelding travelled comfortably during the event, however when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
