When asked re tactics adopted, Rdr reported intention to find cover, however due to early tempo of race, elected to allow mount to stride and settle in a position towards the lead. A post-race vet exam revealed a slow recovery

Wide throughout. Near 600m, lay in, bumped & unbalanced. A post-race vet exam revealed slow recovery. When quest re tactics, Rdr said no instructs but thought with speed drawn to inside, would likely settle mid. Said after beginning well, elected to go forward to take advantage of early gate speed & cross to sit outside lead but inside runners held mount out & was caught 4 wide-added after 800m tried to shift in, to get 3 wide position outside lead but could not & raced 4 wide throughout. Tnr agreed with Rdr's explanation, but surprised to see gelding settling that far forward.
