When asked to comment on tactics adopted particularly near the 400m when SLY CORNER shifted to the inside, rider A Thompson stated at that point of the race, when trailing MISHANI PHAROAH, he was of the belief that runner was not travelling well enough to take him into race and for that reason he elected to shift to the inside. Rider W D’Avila reported after beginning awkwardly ROMANCE FACTOT never travelled comfortably at any stage of the event and displayed abnormal breathing patterns throughout the race. Trainer J Hanna reported he would now consider sending ROMANCE FACTOR for a spell, adding that he would have the horse examined by his own veterinary surgeon and report back any condition which come to light in the coming days.
