Raced wide early before progressing forward to race outside the leader from the 1100m. Raced keen in the middle stages. When asked Rdr explained gelding was obliged to work hard early after being caught wide and when placed under pressure from the 400m did not respond to riding from that point and was disappointing. A post-race vet exam revealed a slight amount of blood in the mouth.
