Jockey L Dittman reported that in his opinion the colt did not handle the prevailing track conditions and as a consequence was reluctant to stretch out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Trainer A Chau was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the below market expectation performance other than noting jockey Dittman’s comments however did advise the colt had raced well on soft tracks previously. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
