Jockey G Cartwright explained that whilst on face value the performance of the gelding may have appeared disappointing, in her opinion being forced to race wide during the event combined with racing first up in todays event on a heavy track were major contributing factors in relation to the performance and in the circumstances she was satisfied with the geldings run.

On returning to scale jockey C Taylor reported that the gelding failed to muster the speed that he had anticipated and as a result settled further back than he anticipated. Jockey Taylor also added that in his opinion the gelding raced somewhat flat today.

Jockey B Pengelly advised that in his opinion the gelding over racing in the early and middle stages were the major contributing factors for the below market expectation performance.

Near the 450m, was momentarily placed in restricted room and eased. On returning to scale jockey T See reported that after receiving interference at the 450m the gelding felt uncomfortable in its action and for this reason he elected not to place the gelding under pressure from this point as he had concerns with the horse’s action. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than the gelding had shifted its off-fore plate in running.
