When asked to comment on tactics to lead today, rider J Guthmann-Chester explained instructions from the good barrier were to settle in a midfield position however after beginning well, and with no pace shown from other runners, he elected to allow the horse to settle in forward position, adding that AVENUE OF STARS had previously performed well on rain affected tracks. Stewards accepted the explanation of J Guthmann-Chester.
