When asked to comment on tactics adopted in the early stages rider R Fradd stated he anticipated GOGOL, which was racing to inside, progressing forward and leading the event. However, after SUPER GORGEOUS improved the inside of GOGOL near the 900 metres, he was unable to restrain KINGSCOTE and was obliged to race three wide.
