When asked to comment on tactics in the early stages to lead the event, rider M Kennedy started after beginning well and with runners to the inside showing little early speed, she elected to continue to ride forward rather than be caught wide.

Near the 600m momentarily steadied from the heels of GODDESS GLOW which was taken out by LYTABLAZE. Rider J Huxtable advised approaching the home turn his mount was travelling only fairly and as a result he elected to shift back to the inside of the heels of NOTHIN’ BUT LOOKS rather come to the outside of that runner.

Change of tactics, to be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. After being slow to begin, was ridden forward to hold a position raced ungenerously, then over-raced at the heels of ZESTY BOY passing the winning post on the first occasion, shifted out abruptly resulting in both LIZZIE’S PRIDE and ALL NEW HUSTLE being checked and taken very wide on the course losing significant ground. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer K Taplin was advised the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
