Jumped away awkwardly and shifted inwards onto the barrier partition and as a result was slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages with cover. When questioned regarding the performance rider J Murphy reported that the gelding was unsettled in the barriers and after beginning awkwardly he settled at the back of the field despite intending to settle on the pace and failed to improve when placed under pressure. Stewards requested a post-race veterinarian examination which revealed a small laceration to the left lip
