Began awkwardly and lost ground. When asked to comment on the performance rider B Thompson advised the horse did not travel at any stage of the race and he was obliged to niggle SEEFIELD to hold a position throughout adding, that in his opinion, the horse was not comfortable racing on the synthetic surface.

A post-race veterinary examination of the horse confirmed it had bled from both nostrils for the first time. Trainer D Murphy was advised DIAMOND BEANS would be stood down from racing under AR79(4) for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to its next race start.

When asked to comment on the performance rider J Orman stated he was happy to lead adding the horse travelled comfortably throughout the race however when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an abnormal respiratory noise on pulling up. Trainer R Tyrell indicated LET’S KARAKA DEEL would now be retired, however if circumstances were to change the horse must trial satisfactorily and would require a veterinary clearance, including the results of a satisfactory endoscopic examination, prior to its next race start.
