Slow to begin. Near the 150m, was steadied to avoid the heels of HIGHLAND SON which shifted in whilst improving when not completely clear. A post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be lame in the off-hind leg.

Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up rounding the home turn. Near the 150m was reluctant to improve to the outside of the heels of BLAZING MAC whilst laying in and as a result was steadied for a considerable distance when very awkwardly placed at heels.
