Raced wide throughout. Raced greenly throughout the event and weakened noticeably over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be exhibiting signs of a respiratory condition. Trainer J M Fitzgerald was advised that GERTIE would require an endoscopic examination and a veterinary certificate prior to its next start.
