Carried to a 4 wide position without cover approaching the 1000m. When questioned Rdr stated asked to have gelding settle midfield, which was able to do, however; approaching the 1000m was carried wider-said attempted to come back to find cover, however; as other horses improved to inside, was obliged to settle at the rear-added despite riding, failed to respond until approaching home turn where again. obliged to race wide to improve & with gelding only having a short sprint, responded moderately in the straight. A post-race vet exam revealed no abs.
