Fields for the iconic Birdsville Cup Carnival have been released with 170 acceptors across the two days of racing from August 31 - September 1.
The carnival was given added flavour earlier this month when Racing Queensland announced it had been granted full TAB status and would be broadcast live on the Sky Racing platform for the first time.
Racing Queensland has agreed to donate 50% of wagering revenue on the meeting to the Queensland Country Women's Association's Drought Appeal.
More than 7000 people are expected to converge on Birdsville, which boasts a population of 140, and is located approximately 1600km West of Brisbane.
