RACE TWO
FOO FIGHTER (11) makes the trip north for Team Tritton as a travelling companion and finds himself in a winnable race despite a tricky gate. He took them all the way at Newcastle last start over the 2030m trip and was able to sizzle home a 26.8 closer after walking the opening 800m. With even luck in transit he can finish over the top. TELL THE LINESMEN (8) will be sweating on the 1 holding up and with that scenario looking likely, will be coiled and ready to strike. He worked too hard last start over the Redcliffe 2040m and 2 back was only narrowly claimed by SMOOTH SAILOR. He will be ready to take the closing shot. TROUBLESOME DAVE (7) has the tough gate but this is no harder than what he has been meeting. Last start from gate 5 he took on a qualifier when 9m from CODE BAILEY and was only 2m from January 2 starts back. FARRAHFOWLER (1) was angled to thee pegs here 3 starts back and with a cosy run attacked the line when 8m from TRES VITE. With good early speed she can look to dictate here. SELECTIONS: FOO FIGHTER (11), TELL THE LINESMEN (8), TROUBLESOME DAVE (7), FARRAHFOWLER (1) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-7-8-11
RACE THREE
OUR DIAMOND EDITON (3) is yet to win a race here at the Creek, but this looks to be her best chance to break that streak. Working hard in the run at Redcliffe last start over the 2040m trip she battled on to finish mid-field. A 1780m winner at Redcliffe 4 back, she can press on and sneak away with this. OUR EDUARDO DENARIO (1) found his race at Marburg 5 starts back and sent to the front dictated to score by 10m. Leading and then run-down at each of his next 2 starts he hasn’t been suited his past 2. Back to the ace gate he has the options and can go close. LIFEINHEAVEN (9) will appreciate this class of race after meeting some handy performers at her past 2 starts. Last start she chased the smart MAJOR OCCASION in a mares qualifier and this is much more suitable. COURAGEOUS CRUZ (7) made a mess of the start last time out which ended his chances. Struggling to re-capture hiss best, if he can put it together this would be within reach. SELECTIONS: OUR DIAMOND EDITON (3), OUR EDUARDO DENARIO (1), LIFEINHEAVEN (9), COURAGEOUS CRUZ (7) SUGGESTED BET: OUR DIAMOND EDITON (3) each-way
RACE FOUR HAPPY FEELINGS (3) was steadily away from this gate last start and ended up a long way back in the run in a race taken by MERRYMACH. 2 starts back in a race similar to this she may have been closer than 8m to VICTREEE MIKAYLA if the gap opened. She can get forward here and breakthrough. DIAMONDS FOR COCO (4) has started twice since returning for her 3YO term and should be further tightened after 12 months away from the track. Off the 2nd line when 1st up she was then too far back and couldn’t get into it last time. She can be much sharper here. TORI MAY (1) was closing out in good style last start to get within 6m of the winner LAUGHING EMOJI. Fitter following 3 runs back from a over 12 months off the track she will be ready to strike. TOO GOOD FOR YOU (6) was working home in good order last start and despite a wide gate can be looking to run on again here. Another that will be fitter following a long break.
SELECTIONS: HAPPY FEELINGS (3), DIAMONDS FOR COCO (4), TORI MAY (1), TOO GOOD FOR YOU (6) SUGGESTED BET: HAPPY FEELINGS (3) to win
RACE FIVE
TIWANAKU (3) is on debut in Qld for Grant Dixon and in a recent trial at Redcliffe looked to be primed for a first-up effort. He strikes a winnable race here with his form in the Riverina area of NSW enough to suggest he can make a winning outing 1st up. EPIRUS BOY (6) features in a stable change with Ryan Veivers taking on the gelding. He was stuck looking for position last start and the start prior was too far back after snagging back from gate 7. Given a trial here last week, he caught the eye and can bob-up in this. GOOD BOY OLIVER (5) should appreciate moving a little closer after copping some tough gates at his past 2 starts. His run for 3rd to MARK OF INTEGRITY was a tidy effort 2 starts back and he can feature. THUNDER MAC (8) loomed up wide out here on Tues after settling in the 1x1 but couldn’t get to the leader and winner MACHIN OUT. With a rub of the green from this gate he can chime in. SELECTIONS: TIWANAKU (3), EPIRUS BOY (6), GOOD BOY OLIVER (5), THUNDER MAC (8) SUGGESTED BET: TIWANAKU (3) to win
RACE SIX FOR ALL WE KNOW (3) made her Qld debut in the fillies Triad final when finding the front, crossed and then went back to the lamp lighting duties with the re-take. Fighting hard all the way it took a special performance from SMART AS CAMM BE to grab her. This looks a perfect bounce-back. MAYWYN NO REGRETS (1) resumes from a break and will be 1st up since switching barns to join Kelli Dawson. In the money at 4 of her 5 career starts including a win over SMART AS CAMM BE when that filly was on debut, she comes in here without a trial. The gate helps. GIVE ME A GO (5) was a tough winner here 3 starts back when doing the hard work outside the leader and followed that with a 4m margin to the handy GINGER MICKY. He has place hopes here. OVERTHEMOON (8) will get a cosy trip from this gate and can be looking for the openings in the stretch. He worked home soundly last start from a wide gate and can chime in for the exotics.
SELECTIONS: FOR ALL WE KNOW (3), MAYWYN NO REGRETS (1), GIVE ME A GO (5), OVERTHEMOON (8) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN
MUSCLE FACTORY (7) has missed a placing just once in his career and arrives in top order for this series. Last start in the G1 NSW Breeders Challenge he did a mountain of work from a wide gate and was still punching when 3.5m from the winner HARDHITTER in a sizzling 1.51.6. He can bully his way to the front and make them chase. MISS MONEYBAGS (4) was sent for a break following the Breeders Classic and went into the Triad Final with no run in over 8 weeks when 4th to SMART AS CAMM BE. Fitter from that run she will be in the mix here and is a smart filly when right. OUR ULTIMATE MARY (3) worked hard in the Triad final from gate 7 to press on to the lead but the work took its toll as she faded off. Her run 2 back was a nice effort when 4m from SMART AS CAMM BE and she can feature. SAINT KILDA BEACH (1) will have the benefit of the inside gate and can look to get the cosy trip. Top 3 in 6 of her 8 outings this term including 2 wins, she will be probing for the run. SELECTIONS: MUSCLE FACTORY (7), MISS MONEYBAGS (4), OUR ULTIMATE MARY (3), SAINT KILDA BEACH (1) SUGGESTED BET: MUSCLE FACTORY (7) to win
RACE EIGHT DAENERYS STORMBORN (2) returned from a break in good style with a first-up win at Redcliffe under mobile conditions and followed that with a head 2nd after working in the run from the 2nd line. Back to the stand from a 10m tape suits in this line-up and she gets her chance. THE BLUE VALIANT (3) was making his Qld debut when starting from the 2nd line over the mobile mile and hitting the line strongly in the closing stages to grab the silver behind GHENT. Still a maiden from the tapes, he caught the eye last time and is in the mix here. HELLBOUND (9) makes his Qld debut for the Grant Dixon barn and arrives a last start G3 winner in Vic when taking out a 4YO Vicbred event. That was from the mobile and this will be just his 2nd career start from the tapes. GHENT (6) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins from the mobile. He has been able to put big margins on his opponents in both wins and with even luck in transit will be firing home again.
SELECTIONS: DAENERYS STORMBORN (2), THE BLUE VALIANT (3), HELLBOUND (9), GHENT (6) SUGGESTED BET: DAENERYS STORMBORN (2) to win
