RACE TWO
TORQUE IS MY GIRL (6) is crying out to win a race and has been runner-up at her past 3 in succession. Last start it looked likely she was going to breakthrough until THE MONEY BALL came swooping home hard to score by a half-neck. Despite the wide-gate she looks hard to stop. FEELING FROSTY (4) was buried in the run of the Triad Consolation 2 starts back and the closing panel from the front made it tough for the chasers to make any ground. His 2nd placed run here 4 starts back was a tidy effort and he has claims. BOULDER CITY (7) was runner-up here 2 starts back when securing he pocket trail and finishing off nicely. He set the tempo last start and went down fighting when 4m off the winner and can place from the tough gate. RUM AND SCHOTZ (2) was off the 2nd line on debut when finishing well back behind the smart GINGER MICKY. Taken back from gate 4 last start he can be sharper with the improved gate. SELECTIONS: TORQUE IS MY GIRL (6), FEELING FROSTY (4), BOULDER CITY (7), RUM AND SCHOTZ (2) SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE IS MY GIRL (6) to win
RACE THREE
ASTRAL RULER (1) has been placed at his past 6 in succession the latest when starting from the front line under discretionary conditions last week when finishing 17m from the winner SPRINBANK EDEN. He meets the biggest danger from that race 20m better off at these conditions which gives him every hope. MATATOKI (4) was off the same impost as ASTRAL RULER last week when finishing 5m in front but still 12m from the winner in claiming the silver. Placed in all 3 runs since arriving in Qld, his run 2 starts back was solid when hitting the line strongly and he is a big threat in this. SCORCHED (6) was buried away on the markers last start and too far back to issue a challenge. 3 starts back he was a real eye-catcher when storming home and he has pace hopes here. JUSTABITCOCO (3) was banished to the trials last start after making an error. Forget her past 2 starts, her run 3 back was a sound effort and she can be sharper here. SELECTIONS: ASTRAL RULER (1), MATATOKI (4), SCORCHED (6), JUSTABITCOCO (3) SUGGESTED BET: ASTRAL RULER (1) to win
RACE FOUR ALOT OF COST (2) did some early work before receiving cover and then when pulling wide at the 350m was one-paced to the line when beaten 7m. Placed at his previous 3 starts, albeit beaten by big margins in each, he can make the most of the improved alley and try to pinch it. FORTY FIVE ROCK (5) sat in the pocket trail last week from gate 1 and came down the centre of the track to finish 3rd and only 3m from the winner. No closer than gate 6 at his past 4 starts, he can look to settle handy and use his experience to look for the elusive maiden victory. ZARAS ALL GOOD (8) returns from a spell after last being sighted back on Jul 5. Runner-up here 2 starts back when trying to go all the way, she can enjoy a cosy trip and be ready to issue a challenge. CANDYFLOSS (1) started from this gate at her debut and made an error at the start which saw her banished from the draw. With the added race experience and back to the ace, look for some improvement.
SELECTIONS: ALOT OF COST (2), FORTY FIVE ROCK (5), ZARAS ALL GOOD (8), CANDYFLOSS (1) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FIVE
UNCLE PETER (4) has won 2 of his 3 appearances for Team Frisby and done it from tough gates. His 1st win here over the mile was a tough run when working forward wide out to find the breeze and then last week he finished over the top at the 2138m. He can settle handy from this gate and will be hard to stop. GRINVIL (1) was buried in the run here last week and was bolting but couldn’t find the space until it was too late. Sprinting sharply she still went within 1.5m of the winner UNCLE PETER. With the cosy trip she will be ready to take the sniper shot hen the gap opens. NONE BETTOR (8) will need plenty of luck from this gate as he looks to be buried on the pegs, however that might opt to take the luck out of it and come wide. A win would secure a hat-trick. MISS KENNY (2) settled in the pocket trail last start in claiming company and charged home along the inside to just miss by the barest margin. She gets her chance to strike a blow in this line-up SELECTIONS: UNCLE PETER (4), GRINVIL (1), NONE BETTOR (8), MISS KENNY (2) SUGGESTED BET: UNCLE PETER (4) to win
RACE SIX LILAC FLASH (7) was too strong here last week after cutting the breeze and then fought hard to reel in the leader and post a 1m victory. His run 2 starts back was huge under the circumstances when sprinting home sharply after the leader had pinched it. Despite the wide gate he is up to the challenge. PINUP BOY (11) started from gate 6 here last week and was hitting the line strongly in the concluding stages when 3m from the winner LILAC FLASH. Taken back to the rear from gate 6 in the Derby 2 starts back, he found them a bit slick. Back to this class he is a threat. BLINGITTOTHEMAX (8) will be hoping to have some luck from this gate as it looks set for him to be buried away in the run. He hit the line hard for the silver here 2 starts back and won’t be far away. DIABOLO STAR (10) found an opening and charged home to a Saturday night feature race win here last start. Placed in his past 3 in succession, he will be looking for a ride home.
SELECTIONS: LILAC FLASH (7), PINUP BOY (11), BLINGITTOTHEMAX (8), DIABOLO STAR (10) SUGGESTED BET: LILAC FLASH (7) to win
RACE SEVEN
LAUGHING EMOJI (1) had been warming up to something in her 2 Aust starts and last time out was able to cash-in. Finding the front from gate 3 she took them all the way over the mile, holding on to win by a head. She steps up to the 2138m but looks able to take the step. ITSMEGS (8) returns from a break following a 4 start prep where she finished top 3 in each. Last start she worked in the run when facing the breeze from gate 4 and fighting to the line going under a nose. She will get the cosy trip and be ready to take the snipers shot. ACT OF VALOR (5) started fav last start at Redcliffe over the 2040m and from gate 3 was too far back in the pack. He did it tough over this trip 4 starts back in holding 3rd and can be thereabouts again. MAJOR GENERALJUJON (9) sat in the pocket trail last start at Redcliffe and worked home in good order to grab the silver behind DATSGOOD. Dropping down for a peg trip here can see him feature. SELECTIONS: LAUGHING EMOJI (1), ITSMEGS (8), ACT OF VALOR (5), MAJOR GENERALJUJON (9) SUGGESTED BET: LAUGHING EMOJI / ITSMEGS (1/8) quinella
RACE EIGHT BELLS BEACH HOUSE (1) didn’t fire a shot last prep after struggling to recapture his best. Last start before going for a break the effort was solid after going off-stride and losing ground he did a stack of work to get as close as he did. With good gate speed he just needs to pinch a panel in front. THE HARLEM HAMMER (8) will be camped on the back of the 1 throughout and be coiled and ready to take her shot. Last start she was working home wide off the track from gate 10 to run mid-field behind VETTTEL with her run prior to that a tough effort from the breeze. ANOTHER BROADWAY (4) has been down the line in 2 return runs with the first when too far back from the 2nd line and the latest when working late. He can have a look from this gate and can be an improver. SWEET AS (10) scored here on Sat night after securing a cosy trip behind the leader and then taking the shot when the gap opened to finish over the top. With a strong tempo look for her sailing home.
SELECTIONS: BELLS BEACH HOUSE (1), THE HARLEM HAMMER (8), ANOTHER BROADWAY (4), SWEET AS (10) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-8-10
RACE NINE CHIRPY CHUCKLES (8) was working home wide out from well back in the pack here 2 starts back over the mile and was finding the line nicely to be a 6m 3rd to OUR CHITTYBANGBANG. Not suited last start at Redcliffe when working hard in the run, he will need some luck here but the cosy trip suits. ONE WISE MAN (5) will be further tightened from his latest run when 2nd up from a break. Too far back from gate 7 when resuming he then run into a brutal display from COLT THIRTY ONE and again was well back looking for late metres. He will need some favours but can look to swoop late. IMA TOP TYCOON (1) held the bronze behind COLT THIRTY ONE last start which followed a tough run over this trip sitting outside the winner ALPHA STYX. From the gate he can look to make the most of his chances. DEECAESAR (4) was hitting the line in good style in a qualifier when finishing 5m from CODE BAILEY last start. His run 2 back was a nice effort and from the handy gate will be right in the fight.
SELECTIONS: CHIRPY CHUCKLES (8), ONE WISE MAN (5), IMA TOP TYCOON (1), DEECAESAR (4) SUGGESTED BET: ONE WISE MAN (5) each-way
