RACE TWO
REGAL ROCK (9) pressed ahead from gate 4 to work to the front here 4 starts back and once in control had them chasing to score a 17m victory. Too strong for them on Wed night when racing wide off the 2nd line, this looks no harder and can take his record to 3 from 3 at the track. ALLYS FELLA (7) worked in the run outside REGAL ROCK at AP last start and then couldn’t see it out. Looking to take them all the way at Redcliffe 3 starts back he was grabbed late and with the right run in transit here can press for a placing. DALLAS COWGIRL (4) was 3rd up from a break at Redcliffe last start when snagged back from a wide gate and was then running on to finish 3rd. Fitter for the run she has podium claims. HIGH ON MONTANA (8) rolled forward from this gate here 3 starts back and applying the heat in the run was too strong. Too far back last start at Redcliffe, he can look for a cart into this. SELECTIONS: REGAL ROCK (9), ALLYS FELLA (7), DALLAS COWGIRL (4), HIGH ON MONTANA (8) SUGGESTED BET: REGAL ROCK (9) to win
RACE THREE
MACHITELLI (7) pressed forward from gate 3 looking for the front here last start and was forced to work hard in the run from the breeze. Proving too classy in that line-up she pulled clear to score an 8m victory. That followed a tidy effort in the South East Oaks and she should be too classy here. LIVING FREE (3) was buried in the run last start and never saw space when only 5m from the winner. 2 starts back she did some early work in finding position here over the 1850m and was best of the rest behind MACHITELLI. She can find the pegs but likely find the fav too slick. TORQUE TO THE MAX (1) started from this alley 4 runs back and with the cosy run behind the leader grabbed the silver behind REGAL ROCK. A similar run from the gate can see her in the money. CURRUMBINKID (6) will need his share of luck from this alley as he looks to be buried in the run. His last run was a sound effort and he has place claims if able to work into some open air. SELECTIONS: MACHITELLI (7), LIVING FREE (3), TORQUE TO THE MAX (1), CURRUMBINKID (6) SUGGESTED BET: MACHITELLI (7) to win
RACE FOUR INCITER (1) has been runner-up at 4 of his past 5 starts with 3 of those coming when drawn off the 2nd line. Importantly he has been top 2 in all 7 outings here at Marburg and he lands the gate to hold the front and dictate. Last start when 3m away from the breeze was strong and this looks his to lose. LAZY BLAZE (6) warms up with a run at Redcliffe on Thurs where he looked well placed. He found the line from the 2nd line in good order 2 starts back at AP and from this gate can be glued to the back of the 1 and be looking for the opening in the closing stages. LUCKY NED PEPPER (2) was buried away in the run at AP on Tues and the run had merit behind some smart performers with LILAC FLASH taking the win. This grade suits and he will have a good look early. CAMIVISTA (5) doesn’t get any favours from the gate and has been freshened since his last outing when able to lead all the way here from gate 3. With even luck in transit he can chime in late. SELECTIONS: INCITER (1), LAZY BLAZE (6), LUCKY NED PEPPER (2), CAMIVISTA (5) SUGGESTED BET: INCITER (1) to win
RACE FIVE
FRANCO TOTEM (1) returns from a break and was last seen when only 5m from PSYCHEDELIC in a Rising Stars final after charging home from a long way back. Only lightly raced his last campaign was only 4 starts and with the benefit of the ace gate he can look to make a winning return. FRANCO TARIQ (9) has his 1st look at Marburg but with form around some tighter tracks in NSW, this shouldn’t pose any issues. He worked home in good order last start when not far off the winner NONE BETTOR and 3 back behind EFFRONTE was a tidy effort. With even luck he looms as a threat. SLIPASLYGRIN (6) will be sweating on a run opening from this gate and be probing for the opening. He has struggled to land an alley in recent starts and place claims look best again. RIVERLEIGH JEFF (8) has a good record here at Marburg and should enjoy getting into this type of contest after taking on some nice types at AP his past 2. He will be working home late. SELECTIONS: FRANCO TOTEM (1), FRANCO TARIQ (9), SLIPASLYGRIN (6), RIVERLEIGH JEFF (8) SUGGESTED BET: FRANCO TOTEM (1) to win
RACE SIX BETTOR WATCH HIM (2) found the pegs before releasing and with the cosy trip held the silver behind the tidy winner PRECIOUS CULLEN 2 starts back. He warms up for this with a Thurs run at Redcliffe and with the speed to get to the front can look to dictate over this trip. CHEYENNE WARRIOR (3) worked in the run at Redcliffe 2 starts back and battled his way into 3rd after breezing. On Wed night he again cut the breeze and faded out late. If he can limit the work in the run he can return a sharper effort. WECANONLYHOPE (4) closed out in good style to claim the silver at Tamworth 3 starts back and then wasn’t suited at her next run behind MACHITELLI at AP. Podium claims appeal in this. LOTS MORE GRINS (9) has the tricky gate to overcome but with the right cart into the contest he can be around the money.
SELECTIONS: BETTOR WATCH HIM (2), CHEYENNE WARRIOR (3), WECANONLYHOPE (4), LOTS MORE GRINS (9) SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR WATCH HIM (2) to win
RACE SEVEN
TRAVELNFAST (2) settled in the running line from a 2nd line gate here last start and coming with a well-timed run arrived to score and make it 2 from 2 at the track. Fitter from that run after resuming from a freshen she can utilise her good early speed to find the pegs and look to dictate terms. NOVENA ROSE (9) goes around at Redcliffe on Thurs as a warm up and is racing in nice touch at present. Too good in the closing stages over the 2138m 3 starts back, she will be having her first look at Marburg as she looks to extend her good run. DEADLY ROCKER (7) did plenty of work in the run last start when 3-wide for the last 1200m and was still fighting to the line when 8m from the winner DIABOLO STAR. With the right trail through at the start, he is a big danger. WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (6) will be probing for openings as she looks to be buried away in the run. A nice winner at Redcliffe in Wed night when sent to the front to dictate off gate 5, she can chime into the exotics. SELECTIONS: TRAVELNFAST (2), NOVENA ROSE (9), DEADLY ROCKER (7), WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (6) SUGGESTED BET: TRAVELNFAST (2) to win
RACE EIGHT DOMESTIC ART (1) is an 8-time Marburg winner and lands the perfect gate to extend that. A winner here 3 starts back when going to the front from this same gate and keeping them chasing all the way. His latest run at AP was a sound effort behind SMOOTH SAILOR and he looks mighty hard to stop. ELZBOY (3) did the work in the run last start at AP when cutting the breeze over the mile and was fighting to the line when 5m from the winner. That followed a tough 2nd to THE CARINGBAH KID and while he may need to work again in this, he will be there fighting it out. OUR MEMPHIS MAC (7) makes his Qld debut for Jason Carkeet and will be 1st up since June. That run was at Wagga where he closed strongly from a 2nd line gate to go under by 5m. He returned a tidy trial to prepare and stays under notice. KAANAPALI (8) looked to take them all the way 2 starts back over the mile at AP when grabbed in the closing stages by SONNY ORLANDO. He goes around at Redcliffe on Thurs and with even luck has podium hopes.
SELECTIONS: DOMESTIC ART (1), ELZBOY (3), OUR MEMPHIS MAC (7), KAANAPALI (8) SUGGESTED BET: DOMESTIC ART (1) to win
