RACE TWO
SECRET JACK (4) has been dynamic his past 2 starts and can look to make it 3 wins in 7 days h a victory here. Last week he was sent forward from gate 7 and after working hard in the run packed too many guns to score a 2m victory. He blew them away here on Tues and will be hard to stop again. PSYCHEDELIC (1) starts the season hoping to pick up where he left the last, scoring 3 wins at his past 4 starts. He found the line strongly last start to grab the bronze behind UNTITLED and after being freshened since that run will get the perfect trip to take the closing shot here. BEAU CISHOLM (8) finished off strongly from the 2nd line here last start and arrived in time to take a head margin. He will need a slice of luck from this alley but should enjoy the soft run and be ready to sprint when the gaps appear. TED WEST (2) steps out for the 1st time since transferring to the Ronny Sallis team and did trial in good order to prepare. A winner of a 2nd division qualifier 3 starts back he can look to fire the 1st shot. SELECTIONS: SECRET JACK (4), PSYCHEDELIC (1), BEAU CISHOLM (8), TED WEST (2) SUGGESTED BET: SECRET JACK (4) to win
RACE THREE
OFFICIANDO (1) will take further benefit from his latest run when 2nd up from a long break. A 3rd when returning after taking the trail from this same gate, he was forced to work last time from gate 7. He strikes an open contest here and holding the inside advantage will be gripping on. SIR JULIAN (6) continues to run nice races but just seems unable to find a way to win. He looked to have found his race here 2 starts back yet was gunned down on the line to go under a half-head. He was best of the chasing pack behind SECRET JACK on Tues and will be in the mix once again. MONIVAE (9) found1x1 cover last start and was able to finish over the top to take the victory in a conditioned event. His run here 3 starts back was a nice effort when hitting the line and with even luck be finishing hard again. RIVERLEIGH JEFF (8) should enjoy a soft trip here and be primed for the closing shot. 4th behind SECRET JACK here last week from the pocket trail, he will look to improve that here. SELECTIONS: OFFICIANDO (1), SIR JULIAN (6), MONIVAE (9), RIVERLEIGH JEFF (8) SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-6-8-9
RACE FOUR LOCKTON LUCK (4) was sent forward from the 2nd line here last week and forced to do plenty of work in the run when mid-field behind the strong INVINCIBLE LOXTON. Gunned down after burning early to find the pegs from gate 7 here 2 starts back, he can look to dictate here. MARKEY OH MARKEY (1) lands a nice alley here and look to protect the inside line until the right cover comes calling. Forced to chase from the running line in recent starts, he can look to make the most of the inside advantage and will be in the firing line. TOP TRIO (2) finished best here last week and arrived in time to score over the mile. That followed a luckless run when never spotting an opening. Handy from this gate he is right in the fight. OUR WALL STREET WOLF (9) did his share of early work here last start and fought on well behind INVINCIBLE LOXTON. That followed a tough 2nd to CHAL FIRE and with a trail through early can issue a late challenge.
SELECTIONS: LOCKTON LUCK (4), MARKEY OH MARKEY (1), TOP TRIO (2), OUR WALL STREET WOLF (9) SUGGESTED BET: LOCKTON LUCK (4) to win
RACE FIVE
WATTLEBANK FLYER (2) found his race here on Tues and with the race playing into his hands was able to finish over the top to score over the 2138m trip. He meets a similar type line-up here and if able to get the right cover in the early stages can finish over the top again. PROFICIENT (8) will take further benefit from his latest offering when 2nd up from a break. While he never looked to be travelling at any stage, he fought on well to be within 6m of the winner. From this gate he will get the cosy trip and will be ready to issue the closing challenge. BRING ON LEFTY (1) is working his way slowly back to a peak and his past few have been encouraging. He hit the line strongly here 4 starts back and fought hard in the breeze here 2 back. From the gate he will be gripping on. FIFTH EDITION (4) was buried away in the run here last start from gate 11 and there was plenty to like about how he found the line behind TOP TRIO. Look for an improved showing from this alley. SELECTIONS: WATTLEBANK FLYER (2), PROFICIENT (8), BRING ON LEFTY (1), FIFTH EDITION (4) SUGGESTED BET: WATTLEBANK FLYER (2) to win
RACE SIX ZARAS DELIGHT (8) settled in the running line last start and although coming up with the 11 of 12 against her name, she wasn’t that far from the winner and the run had merit. Within 3m of the smart filly MAJOR OCCASION 2 starts back, she will need some luck here but against her own sex can get the job done. SWEET AS (9) worked home in good style last start and snared the silver behind the in-form POMPIDOU. That followed a tough run when digging in for the fight behind MAJOR OCCASION and career start 100 can be memorable at her 1st run for the season. MANDY KRIDEN (4) found her race last start and made full advantage of conditions to storm home over the top to score. The tempo should suit here and the grey mare will be steaming home late. JESSICA AMBER (1) will be returning after a brief let-up and was last seen when down the line behind ADMIRAL BRONSKI. With good early speed she can hold up early and with the options has podium claims.
SELECTIONS: ZARAS DELIGHT (8), SWEET AS (9), MANDY KRIDEN (4), JESSICA AMBER (1) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN
MIGHT AND MAIN (9) found her race at Redcliffe 3 starts back and pouncing on the pegs was able to take them all the way. Forced to overcome gate 7 at her past 2 starts in mares qualifiers, her efforts have been solid. With the right trail through in the early stages, she can get the job done here. LUVUMUM (2) hasn’t been suited here 2 starts when forced to snag right back from a wide gate and then last start did plenty of work in the run over the 2138m trip. From this alley she can look to take control early and that gives her every chance. CALL ME YOURS (5) likes the middle-distance events and if able to find position without getting too far back will have something to offer in the closing stages. 3rd to DARKERSHADEOFPALE 3 starts back, she has some claims. HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (1) lands the perfect alley for her pattern and with the cy trip will be ready to take the closing shot in the stretch. A winner from the passing lane 3 starts back, look for her charging along the pegs. SELECTIONS: MIGHT AND MAIN (9), LUVUMUM (2), CALL ME YOURS (5), HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (1) SUGGESTED BET: MIGHT AND MAIN (9) to win
RACE EIGHT ALLELUIA (7) is in the zone at present and last week was too strong for arguably the most in-form open class performer GLENFERRIE HOOD when sitting outside him and putting him away. That was from gate 6 of 6 and with this no different to last week, he can go forward and assert his dominance. OHOKA PUNTER (6) appears to have had his chances to win in recent starts and last week had cover in the run but couldn’t get past ALLELUIA. His runs have been good and he isn’t far away and he will be right in the fight again. OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (1) loves to take the cosy trip and offer the closing sprint and has conditions to suit again here. Within 3m of the winner ALLELUIA last week from this gate, she will be probing again in this. WITHALOTOFLUCK (8) can look to get away from the pegs in the early stages if needed and will be trying to steam home in the closing stages. A tidy 3rd from gate 7 last start behind INVINCIBLE LOXTON, he won be far away.
SELECTIONS: ALLELUIA (7), OHOKA PUNTER (6), OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (1), WITHALOTOFLUCK (8) SUGGESTED BET: ALLELUIA (7) to win
RACE NINE OUR OVERANOVA (7) hasn’t been sighted since the Trotters marathon when he worked home well to be 7m from the winner SPUD. That followed a good 3rd to OUR DREAMLOVER when tracking into the race strongly and back to 50m against this opposition will be right in the fight. SPUD (4) meets OUR OVERANOVA 40m closer than when they last met when he was able to claim the marathon off a front-line tape. Since that meeting, he has been able to win another 2 Band assessed events, the latest under mobile conditions here last week when finishing too strongly. He can go close again. GIACOMO (5) was an eye-catcher here last week when hitting the line in good order to be 1m from SPUD. That was an improved showing from his past few, with his run 5 back a solid effort when closing out strongly. He has place hopes. SOUTHERN ALPS (1) has the handicap advantage and will be looking for a safe start to make the most of his 10m ‘start’. An all the way winner here over this trip 3 starts back, he will give them something to chase if he gets it right.
SELECTIONS: OUR OVERANOVA (7), SPUD (4), GIACOMO (5), SOUTHERN ALPS (1) SUGGESTED BET: OUR OVERANOVA (7) to win
