The Albion Park Harness Racing Club (APHRC) track remediation project, which will see a full track resurface including the use of crusher dust, commenced on Thursday 11 October 2018.
While much of the work to complete the existing track has been completed, significant rainfall in South East Queensland over the past 5 days has impeded progress.
As a result, the meetings scheduled for Albion Park on Friday (19 October) and Saturday (20 October) have been transferred to the Redcliffe Harness Racing Club.
Racing Queensland Harness Development and Strategy Manager David Brick said: “With the wet weather expected to clear from tomorrow both RQ and APHRC expect the work will be completed in time for racing to recommence on Tuesday 23 October 2018.”
"Despite more than 100mm of rain since last Thursday the Redcliffe track has played exceptionally well. Pleasingly, punters continued to bet with confidence on harness racing, with Racing Queensland recording 20% wagering growth on the corresponding week in 2017."
