Brisbane Racing Club - Wed 17 Oct - Abandoned

Following an inspection of the course proper by BRC track management and QRIC stewards, the racing surface at Doomben has been deemed not suitable for racing on at the club’s race meeting on Wednesday 17 October.

Accordingly, the race meeting has been abandoned.

Details pertaining to the track/weather are:

• Penetrometer - 7.2 @ 9:00am, Tuesday 16 October
• Rainfall - 143mm last 7 days, 100mm since Saturday’s (13 October) race meeting abandonment and 20mm in the 24 hours preceding 8am, Tuesday 16 October; and
• The current forecast for the next 24 hours is for further showers

The likelihood of improved weather after Wednesday will likely allow the track’s condition to improve leading into the club’s race meeting on Saturday 20 October.

Brisbane RC has confirmed that the rail will remain at 0.5m for Saturday’s race meeting.
