Trainer Robert Heathcote labelled impressive Doomben winner Femme Fireball one of the better horses in his stable before signaling a Magic Millions campaign this summer.
Femme Fireball ($3.20) returned to the winners' stall for the first time since December last year before a luckless winter campaign.
But the now four-year-old mare put the writing on the wall with two strong lead-up trials before today's event, where she beat home Steve O'Dea's Masterati by 1.25L.
"Physically she's really furnished into a nice horse - the Pierro's are doing a super job ... she's exciting and I think she can measure up to stakes grade," Heathcote said.
"The goal is the Magic Millions Fillies and Mares race and that's where we're headed. I think she's certainly good enough.
"She's got a powerful finish."
The Gary 'Jack' Duncan-trained Barnsley finished third, with the other well-supported runner Dream Kisses fading out after travelling three-wide on the speed.
