Light Up The Room has confirmed herself as a filly to be reckoned with in the upcoming TAB Summer Carnival after an impressive win in the QTIS Three-year-old Handicap.
The Filly jumped from gate two alongside favourite Champagne Daisy and jockey Brad Stewart produced a plum ride to come away in the last hundred.
Trainer Tony Gollan said the race had panned out perfectly, hinting Light Up The Room had plenty of improvement yet to come.
“She made use of the gate ideally, that was the plan to get on the favourite’s back and I always knew she had something in the tank late,” He said.
“Today is another stepping stone to how good she will eventually be, I think we’ll eventually get her up to the mile once she’s done a bit more maturing in the coat.”
Gollan said the Fillies form had opened up a number of pathways going forward.
“I think she’s capable of being a Magic Millions horse, but then again if we take our time with her I think she could definitely figure in an Oaks next Winter, those are decisions we’ll make in the next month.”
Hoop Brad Stewart who has piloted the Filly in each of her three race wins said he knew he had a lot of horse under him after the cosy run.
“We got a really nice trail on the leader and once we pulled off her back at the top of the straight I always knew we would get there,” he said.
“I think she’ll get the mile eventually but right now I think 1400 is her go.”
