Internationally acclaimed jockey Jeff Lloyd has announced he will retire from race riding following the metropolitan meeting at Doomben on July 13.
Lloyd made the announcement on Sky Sports Radio this morning in an interview with Andrew Bensley.
Lloyd has won the past three Queensland Metropolitan Jockeys' premierships and is all but certain to take a fourth title in 2018/19.
In 2016/17 Lloyd made headlines when he smashed the previous record for most wins by a jockey in a season when he saluted the judge 137.
