Straight of Origin Update

Racing Queensland advises stakeholders of a change of format for the Straight of Origin Series at Capalaba due to a shortage of nominations for the heats.

The series will now be shortened to two weeks in the following format:

• 2x New South Wales heats on Sunday 16 June 2019.
• 2x Queensland heats on Sunday 16 June 2019.
• The top 4 qualifiers plus reserves from each state will progress to the final on Sunday 23 June 2019.

For New South Wales, all new nominations will be accepted for the heats on Sunday 16 June 2019.

For Queensland, three non-penalty qualifiers will be conducted this Sunday 9 June 2019 to determine the top 16 plus 4 reserves to progress to the heats on Sunday 16 June 2019.

To be eligible for the Straight of Origin, the greyhound must have been in the trainer’s kennel from 9 May 2019 or before.

Prizemoney for the Straight of Origin Final on 23 June 2019 is as follows:

• First $14,000
• Second $4,000
• Third $2,000
• Fourth $1,000
• Unplaced $250
