RACE TWO
AQUA MISS (9) was locked away against the pegs last time out when starting as fav and when finally working her way into the clear, the race was gone. Holding on for 3rd in a strong mares race taken by ROCKING 2 starts back, her Redcliffe win was a nice effort 3 back. With even luck she can arrive here. STAR OF MONTANA (1) didn’t have any luck at all last start when looking for space. Retreating from gate 6, he was looking to make a run when stuck in traffic. His previous 2 starts were when striking SELF ASSURED in the Derby’s and from this gate will get the options to bounce back to winning form. COBBLER LANE (2) was sent to the breeze last start over the 2138m after circling early from the 2nd line. The hard run saw him fade out. An all the way winner 2 starts back, look for a bounce back. IN THE PAPER (7) isn’t afforded any favours from this gate, but should find this easier than last start when 9m from VASARI. Tough in the breeze when beaten a half-neck 2 starts back, he has claims. SELECTIONS: AQUA MISS (9), STAR OF MONTANA (1), COBBLER LANE (2), IN THE PAPER (7) SUGGESTED BET: AQUA MISS (9)
RACE THREE
RUN BOY RUN (5) sat in the pocket trail in the Redcliffe Patrons Purse when holding 3rd behind the paralysing win sprint of BILL HALEY. Not suited last start from gate 7 when forced to restrain, he faces a sticky alley here, yet of able to find the right run in transit, this is within reach. BRADS LUCK (8) has placed at his past 2 outings when forced to race tough in each. Both of those came over the 2138m, the latest in a solid early speed when having a shot for the front. 2 starts back he rolled across from gate 6 and was beaten 4m. With a soft trip he can fire late bullets. CLASSIE AMERICAN (11) claimed the silver here 3 starts back behind the smart THATSWHATISAID and then wasn’t suited at his next outing. With no favours from this gate, he can be chiming in late. LISA LINCOLN (1) took on a mares event last start when releasing the front after finding the poles 1st from gate 3 and chasing home ELLE YEAH. With the options from the gate, she won’t be far away.
SELECTIONS: RUN BOY RUN (5), BRADS LUCK (8), CLASSIE AMERICAN (11), LISA LINCOLN (1) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR BARRETT (5) should appreciate the return to this type of race after meeting much stronger opponents in recent starts. Locked on the poles last start he hit the line in nice style when 7m from LIKEALLOFUS. Only 3m from SECRET JACK the start prior, this big class drop is right in his favour. BRIAN WHO (4) will be better suited here at The Creek after his past 2 at Redcliffe, a track where he has not been able to show his best. 3 starts back he looked to take them all the way over the mile and was only collared in the closing stages. Settling handy from this gate he can be in the fight. TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (1) was sent to the pegs from the 2nd line last start to look for short-cuts and was finding the line strongly when 4m in arrears. With good early speed he can put himself in the mix. TORQUE FEELS GOOD (6) shoots for the hat-trick after wins at Marburg and Redcliffe. The latest win came when pressing on to find the front and holding them off over the 2040m. This is harder.
SELECTIONS: BARRETT (5), BRIAN WHO (4), TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (1), TORQUE FEELS GOOD (6) SUGGESTED BET: BARRETT (5) to win
RACE FIVE
GETARATTLEON (6) took on the 2138m start last time out when making his Qld debut and after settling back in the pack was able to finish over the top to claim a smart 3m victory. Runner-up in his previous 2 starts when within 2m of the winner in each, he can be swooping home hard again. MAJESTIC KIWI (2) was sent to the breeze from the 2nd line last time out and in a sizzling tempo over the 2040m at Redcliffe and under the torrid trip faded out. Beaten 2m the start prior when facing the breeze over the 1780m, his run 3 back was strong when beaten a head. He can challenge here. BANGKOK BRAVADO (8) will have the benefit of working away from the pegs if need be as the lone 2nd line runner. Too far back last start after retreating from gate 7, look for a sharper effort in this. HEAVENS HURRICANE (4) was off the 2nd line last start and trying to work into late when down the line behind TOMMY UNDER FIRE. He can have an early look from this gate and has exotic claims.
SELECTIONS: GETARATTLEON (6), MAJESTIC KIWI (2), BANGKOK BRAVADO (8), HEAVENS HURRICANE (4) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-4-6-8
RACE SIX This shapes as a tricky contest to line up for the 2YO’s as they will be over the 2138m for the 1st time in Qld this season. FEARLESS FAITH (4) has shown nice improvement as her term has progressed. Given time to balance up last start, she found the line strongly when taking a 5m victory. LORD DIGBY (3) was looking to complete a threepeat of victories and remain undefeated here last start. Settling in the running line he was good to the line behind the dictating winner JEWEL OF PEAK. From the good gate, if he can handle the distance, he will be right in the fight. MY ULTMATE BONDI (6) is still after his 1st Qld victory after 4 attempts. From inside the 2nd line last start at Redcliffe, he was attacking the line strongly to get within a neck. He is in the mix. SIR JUJON (5) made an error last start but was strong and under the circumstances was a tidy effort to hold the bronze behind BROKEN ARK. A smart winner 4 starts back, he won’t be far away.
SELECTIONS: FEARLESS FAITH (4), LORD DIGBY (3), MY ULTMATE BONDI (6), SIR JUJON (5) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN
SKYFLYER (4) will take good benefit from his latest start when 2nd up from a break. Starting off a 40m tape last start at Marburg, it was a game effort when wide off the track and getting within a half-neck of the winner. His record from the mobile is strong and he can look to capitalise. GREG THE GREAT (7) is an enigma and brings as many convictions as talent. His past 2 have seen him make errors and end his chances. 3 starts back he put it all together when closing out strongly from back in the pack to claim a stylish win. If the manners come with him, he can give this a shake. HELLBOUND (8) stepped cleanly before making an error and ending his chances last time out over the 2647m. Only a neck in arrears of SOUTHERN ALPS 2 back, all his wins have been from the mobile and as the lone 2nd line runner he can go close. MISTER OZ (3) has been around the money and last start was strong from a 50m tape over the Redcliffe 2280m when grabbing 3rd. From the good gate he won’t be far away.
SELECTIONS: SKYFLYER (4), GREG THE GREAT (7), HELLBOUND (8), MISTER OZ (3) SUGGESTED BET: SKYFLYER (4) to win
RACE EIGHT CHANCELESS CENTURY (2) speared out to take control here last start over the mile from gate 3. After a steady 1st 800m, the tempo increased and setting a 27.9 closing panel, was grabbed in the shadows of the post. Placed in 6 of 12 career starts, he can find the pegs and this might be his night. THE RAGNBONE MAN (1) will strip fitter following his last start when returning from a spell. Rolling forward from gate 6 to face the breeze, he faded in the closing stages. Still searching for a maiden breaking win after 17 attempts, he has the speed to make use of early options and can go close.
CROWN MOJO (6) has started fav in 2 of his 3 career starts, yet is still to fill a placing. He struck some trouble in the run last start which proved costly, his run 2 back a tidy effort behind some handy performers. He is right in the fight here.
SELECTIONS: CHANCELESS CENTURY (2), THE RAGNBONE MAN (1), CROWN MOJO (6) SUGGESTED BET: CHANCELESS CENTURY (2) to win
RACE NINE NO LOVE ABOUT IT (1) gets his chance to score a maiden breaking win after being the runner-up on 5 occasions to SHEGOTSASS. With the right manners to step straight to the front from pole position, tonight’s the night. FIRST OFFENCE (3) has done a few things wrong at release in the past 2 starts that have proved costly. In this small field, she can utilise her race experience to hold on for 2nd. MISTAKES WERE MADE (2) makes her debut for Mal Charlton and is a Bettors Delight pacing bred filly. She will take benefit on her 1st appearance.
SELECTIONS: NO LOVE ABOUT IT (1), FIRST OFFENCE (3), MISTAKES WERE MADE (2)
