RACE TWO
MONTANA CHIEF (7) snagged back from gate 6 last start to look for some luck against the pegs and was strong to the line in some tidy closing panels, despite receiving no reward for the effort. Tough in the breeze the start prior when 6m from the winner, the small field suits and he can arrive. VINTAGE DREAM (6) took on a mares race last and didn’t see space when needed with the leader JUSTALITTLE TORQUE kicking clear to score. Within 2m of the winner the start prior when things didn’t go s needed, she can look to work home late here and has claims in the small field. HOT DOGMA (1) started from gate 7 here on Monday and was sent forward to do the hard work and was in for the fight when 4m in arrears. With the improved gate he can hustle and can’t be ignored. SPONDOOLEY (5) started inside the 2nd line last time out and with the cosy trip was attacking late to be 6m from the winner. He can slide back early and with a cosy trip on offer can chime in late. SELECTIONS: MONTANA CHIEF (7), VINTAGE DREAM (6), HOT DOGMA (1), SPONDOOLEY (5) SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA CHIEF (7) to win
RACE THREE
HALF MOON BEACH (4) had been runner-up in successive starts heading into his latest start, his run 2 starts back when only beaten a half-neck. Spearing across from gate 7 here on Monday, he was able to find the front and once in control held on to score. This is no harder. Rinse and repeat. WILD ABOUT TOWN (5) has been around the money of late, the latest when hitting the line in nice style when 8m from the winner. 3 starts back he looked to take them all the way at Redcliffe and was only collared in the closing stages, beaten a half-head. He can feature despite a tricky gate. NON PASSARE (9) started fav here on Wed from gate 10 when closing out in the latter stages in good style to be 2m in arrears of HALF MOON BEACH. With the 2nd line again, it will be tough to turn it around. SURFER JOE (1) struck trouble in the run last start at Marburg and his chances ended. Fighting gamely in the breeze 2 starts back, he can secure the cosy trip and chime into the exotics.
SELECTIONS: HALF MOON BEACH (4), WILD ABOUT TOWN (5), NON PASSARE (9), SURFER JOE (1) SUGGESTED BET: HALF MOON BEACH (4) to win
RACE FOUR MUCHO MACHO MAN (6) eased back from gate 7 in a 2nd division qualifier last start and from back in the pack was attacking the line strongly in the closing stages in an eye-catching performance. Snagged back from the same gate the start prior, the small field works in his favour and he can arrive. MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (1) found the pegs from gate 3 last start and with the cosy trip in behind the speed was only 5m from the winner CLASSIE AMERICAN. Using the passing lane 2 starts back when only beaten a head, he will get the early options here and can throw down the challenge. SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (3) took the pocket trail from gate 1 here 2 starts back and made the most of the passing lane to grab the silver behind AQUA MISS. Limiting the work in the run he has claims. LURAH (5) retreated from gate 6 on Mon and finding the pegs was looking for the short-cuts in the run behind the dictating winner ELMAUR JOY. Look for her swooping home in the closing stages.
SELECTIONS: MUCHO MACHO MAN (6), MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (1), SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (3), LURAH (5) SUGGESTED BET: MUCHO MACHO MAN (6) to win
RACE FIVE
JILLIBY JACKPOT (8) will need some factors in his favour, but with the likelihood he can follow the leader, he can be ready to take the snipers shot. Locked away 3 back last time out from this same gate, he didn’t get a clear shot at them. Too far back in the pack 2 starts back, he can strike here. OUR DOUG (1) worked to the front from gate 3 over the 2138m and set a strong tempo in front that saw him fade in the closing stages. His runs prior to that had been tidy from some tricky gates and with the improved alley here and back to the mile can return a sharper effort. COBALT BLUES (6) was attacking the line strongly here on Monday over the 2138m when getting within a half-head of the winner NICSTAR. A beaten fav the start prior, the gate hurts, but he can be thereabouts. WILLSINTOWN (3) can look to settle close to the speed from this alley and with the right run can be around the money against this line-up. Only 8m away 3 starts back when leading them up, he can feature.
SELECTIONS: JILLIBY JACKPOT (8), OUR DOUG (1), COBALT BLUES (6), WILLSINTOWN (3) SUGGESTED BET: JILLIBY JACKPOT (8) to win
RACE SIX These cheap claimers are a tough contest to pull apart, but with the good alley TOPNOTCH MACH (3) can look to fire off the arm and from the front would take some catching. Forget his last start at Marburg where the 2nd line ended his hopes, his run 3 back at Redcliffe was tidy and he can sneak away with this. JAX NAVARO (6) found the 1x1 trail from gate 5 here 3 starts back in a stronger claiming line-up and with the good run in transit was able to attack the line in the closing stages to grab the silver. His run 2 starts back saw him strike a scrimmage and last start he was wide off the track. He is in this. THE GUN ROCKSTAR (2) was buried on the pegs last start from gate 2 and was chasing home but nothing from the back really made any ground. Freshened since that run, he has place hopes here. RUATO BAY (5) was forced to do plenty of work last time out when taking on a 2nd division qualifier but was in for the fight when finishing 8m from the winner GREGS LEGACY. He won’t be far away.
SELECTIONS: TOPNOTCH MACH (3), JAX NAVARO (6), THE GUN ROCKSTAR (2), RUATO BAY (5) SUGGESTED BET: TOPNOTCH MACH (3) to win
RACE SEVEN
DOWNTOWN LUCCA (9) has the 2nd line to negotiate but with the right luck in transit can be looking to get into the wines circle here. Forgive the last run when he was snagged back and then was never in the contest, his run 2 starts back when 2nd to DATSGOOD was a nice effort and he can be sharper. DATSGOOD (3) will be better suited to the bigger track after making an error into the 1st turn last time out at the tight Marburg track. A mare that already has some vices, she was grabbed late here 2 starts back when leading them up. Taking control, she can look to fight them off here. HIGH ON MONTANA (7) has grabbed the bronze at his past 2 starts, the latest when using the passing lane to get within 4m of the winner. The gate stings, but he won’t be far away in this. ITS YOU NOT ME (1) had a look for the front last start at Marburg and with no lead available was forced to breeze and faded out. With a soft trip in behind the speed, he will be better suited.
SELECTIONS: DOWNTOWN LUCCA (9), DATSGOOD (3), HIGH ON MONTANA (7), ITS YOU NOT ME (1) SUGGESTED BET: DOWNTOWN LUCCA (9) to win
RACE EIGHT MIKE ORR (4) had been showing some nice improvement at each outing since starting his career and last start was put into the contest early from the 2nd line. Taking control he was too dominant for his opponents in scoring a big 18m victory. With the added confidence and despite the rise, he can give this a shake. MY WINGMAN (3) snagged back from gate 5 last start and from back in the pack was never going to be a factor with THE DOORMAN controlling a sold tempo up front. Possessing good early speed, he will strip fitter from 1 run back and if able to pinch a panel can be trying to fight them off. LAUGHING EMOJI (7) resumes from a break after not really showing her best last campaign. Yet to find the winner stall in Qld, she has opened the pipes with a nice trail and stays under notice. ARTS PEREGRINE (8) will be needing a slice of luck from this alley, yet with the right run in transit can probe for the gaps to finish hard. Within 5m of the winner last start, he is an exotic player.
SELECTIONS: MIKE ORR (4), MY WINGMAN (3), LAUGHING EMOJI (7), ARTS PEREGRINE (8) SUGGESTED BET: MIKE ORR (4) to win
RACE NINE PLATINUM ROULETTE (10) rolled forward from gate 7 last time out when taking on a Sat night claiming event. With a solid tempo being set, he was in for the fight when finishing 6m from the winner CASINO TOMMY. His previous 2 were strong against smart performers and he can take this. LUCIFERS LEGEND (2) returns from a freshen after starting 4 times after a spell. Those 4 runs he didn’t really fire yet wasn’t too far away on each occasion. Strong from the breeze 2 starts back when within 6m of the winner, he can look to get to the pegs 1st and can be fighting hard in front. FAT PROPHET (9) is on the back-up from Tues where he looked a place hope despite being dealt a tough alley in 7. He grabbed the bronze 2 starts back despite being luckless and can feature in this. HOT ROD HEAVEN (5) held the pocket trail from gate 1 last start but couldn’t go with them when the sprint went on in the closing stages. A nice 3rd after being locked away 2 starts back, he can place.
SELECTIONS: PLATINUM ROULETTE (10), LUCIFERS LEGEND (2), FAT PROPHET (9), HOT ROD HEAVEN (5) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-5-9-10
