Race 1 - 11:47AM MADISON CLEANING SERVICES Class 3 Plate (1825 METRES)

"That was about the longest 1850 metre race I've ever been in."

"He started off one out one back and ended up third last settling and despite wanting to lay in throughout the straight did a good job to get his nose out and win."

"He's worked it out this horse he was a fast two-year-old and after that the Pierro's kicked in and he's sticking on now."

"Michael (Cahill) has had two rides for me for two wins, it brings back some memories Michael and I cut our teeth him at Cowra and me at Orange back when we had hair, it's good to see the combination back again, his brother Matthew actually rode my first ever winner."

"I'd say you'll probably see more horses coming up, the tracks up here play very fair and the Spring Carnival in Sydney is going to be one of the hottest ever, so you have to place your horses where they can win."

"I've had a good start to the season and have a pretty handy book of rides today, so it was nice to kick it off with a winner."

"I was looking to get into the three wide line around the 600, but Miss Shanti came up outside us and in the end we were able to come off her heels and stick it out."

"I think the track is fair and getting better all the time, depending on tempo horses can win from anywhere."

Race 2 - 12:23PM BRISBANE NEUROSURGERY BENCHMARK 78 Handicap (1600 METRES)

"He was three wide last week and ran on really well, so with a bit of cover today we thought he'd love the mile."

"He's done well during the week he presented nicely today and was relaxed around to the gates, where sometimes he can get a bit stirred up."

"The tempo played into our hands, on paper I didn't think there would be a whole lot of speed but they ran along and he was too strong."

"He can definately aim higher this horse, he was slow developing and took a while to break his maiden, but he's figured it out now and we'll use this prep to try to stretch him out beyond the mile."

"He's a Magic Millions horse and if we can get him up in trip we may set him for the Magic Millions staying race."

"She doesn't panic Steph (Thorton), she summed things up really well today and has already been a big asset to the stable."

"It was great I think he's going to take a lot of confidence from it, I thought he might jump a little better but it didn't matter in the end he was at his right distance and put them away."

"I think it's going to be a bit tricky today there's a very strong headwind up the straight and I made a point to give him some cover before hitting top gear and the wind."

"She's been unlucky her first two runs this prep, she should have won first up but was held up badly and just hit a flat spot which coast her the race last week."

"We made a gear change getting the crossover on today and I think that took her over the top."

"It's not bad when you land one one with Robbie Fradd on board, coming up to the hom turn I was just hoping she would go on with it because last time she got that stitch."

"John Davies from Aquis bought her off one of the auction sites for under $10,000 and sent her to us."

"Last prep was first prep we had her and she was winning, but it was all at the provincials so we weren't sure what we were working with, but she looks like she's well and truly city grade now."

"Throughout the run there was just so much filly underneath me and I just kept her balanced and saved her run for the last two hundred metres."

"The gate was important but she's got nice natural speed and she put herself in the best position to outsprint them."

"I was a bit worried at the 600 it wasn't a frantic speed at the front and Matt (McGillivray) was just pushing him to get their backs and he wore them down."

"Under the circumstances off a modest pace to do that is very pleasing and hopefully he continues on his winning ways here at Eagle Farm."

"He's a Magic Millions horse who I could see progressing to some Summer Stakes races and maybe even a race for him on Magic Millions day."

"We've tried him up to a mile before but I think he's more suited over the 6 to 7 furlongs, the tempo of the races are much better and we'll give him another couple before a quick spell."

"It was a good win he's a tough horse that one, we got a fair way back off a moderate speed, but I like the way he attacked the line and is set for a nice prep."

"You won't see too many horses at their second start win after being three wide the trip at Eagle Farm, he's a bloody good horse."

"I've had a very very big opinion of this horse from day one and have been quite vocal without getting too carried away about him."

"He's got a very bright future and i've got to pay a special thanks to Duncan Ramage who picked the horse and brought him to myself, I'm just glad I get to train him."

"Mark Du Plessis who's sick today has to take an enormous amount of credit he's done the bulk of his trackwork."

"His one downfall is getting into the gates nice and relaxed and he's certainly getting better with age we're confident we can iron it out."

"We'll see how he pulls up from this and make a call from there, the eye is to the future with this horse we're just taking it one run at a time."

"I was hoping to roll forward and find a spot one off the rail, but it just didn't open up."

"She's not a big filly but she's all heart and it was great to see her go back to back today."

"It was very similar to her last win I think today was probably a little more impressive with the lack of tempo mid race, it took her the entire straight to run them down but she got there."

"Steph's (Thornton) claim was huge today, she's only had to carry half a kilo more than her last start, but that's not to take away from the win a little filly like her tackled the boys today."

"We've had a treble a few times before, but it's always a thrill on a Metropolitan race day and we've got Cool Sequence in the next who's drawn a nice gate and will run honestly."

"I spoke with Steve and we were both hoping of a repeat from last time out and she tried hard and put just as much effort and did it again."

"We wanted to get to the outside she prefers to come down the middle of the track like she did today, so I out her out there and let her show her turn of foot."

"I just want to say earlier in race two we all wore blue armbands for Mel Tyndall in Darwin and Mikaela Claridge at home in Cranbourne, it was a huge honour to win that race in honour of them and thoughts go out to both the girls families and friends."

Race 7 - 3:22PM ASCOT PLUMBING Class 6 Handicap (1000 METRES)

"We thought his career was over the middle of last year, he was five and a half years old and only had fourteen starts it looked like a real hard luck story."

"It's an emotional win for everyone involved the staff, owners I'm rapt to see him back as a seven year old winning at Eagle Farm."

"He's still figuring it back out he wanted to lay all over them in the straight he'll only get better."

"I've done a fair bit of work with Lindsay and this horse especially, he thought he had him ripe to win and he was spot on."

"He's his own worst enemy once he works it all out he'll be something."

"The race set up for him even though leaders haven't had much luck today, I thought Dale summed it up really well and got a lovely trail."

"I can't say enough about that ride because he really summed things up perfectly on the run and left a bit in the tank for the horse to give a good kick."

"We couldn't win a race in the Winter Carnival now we've got this bloke back who is one of our highest rated stayers now."

"There are some nice races coming up the Spring Cup in the first week of October looks a good target, the only thing we have to worry about is him carrying too much weight."

"It took us a while to work out he wasn't a sprinter, he was getting beaten by some very handy short course horses early in his career, but he's found his place as a stayer."

"Very nice to get a rap from the boss (Rob Heathcote) it doesn't come easy."

"The whole stable have done a wonderful job placing this horse, he's come back fitterm mentally tough and has a great demeanour couple that with fighting spirit and you've got a good horse."

"When I first asked him to come in the race he was a bit flat footed, but the further we went the better he got he's in for an exciting prep."

"He's a slow maturing horse and has really started to work it out this prep, his manners and the way he carries himself has improve tenfold."

"Jake did a great job getting cover, we spoke about it before the race most horses punching the breeze weren't running out the trip and it went according to plan."

"He's promised to win a race like this for a long time and I've always had the opinion he'll get to Group Three level we just have to be patient and give him time."

"I watched the replays and did my homework and the horses leading up haven't been running it out today, so I was looking for a bit of cover and he ot that when we jumped well from a good gate."

"I was in two minds at the corner he was bolting I just had to be patient and wait for the gap and he sprinted away from them."
