RACE TWO
JOVIAL JULIE (1) found the front last start and looked to take them all the way when leading all bar, the most important 5m of the race. Beaten a head as FIRE AND ICE made the closing lunge a winner, she had turned the race into a stretch sprint. With the gate to capitalise, she can grip on this time. ZARAS HEAVEN (3) found the front last start and once in control walked them early before amping the tempo in the last 800m to cruise home to a 7m victory. That followed a dead-heat victory after doing the hard yards in the breeze. She might need to roll the sleeves again, but will be in the fight. LORD DENZEL (2) took on a qualifier at his 1st Qld start since arriving with the Ben Battle barn. Fitter for the run after 1 month between outings, back to the triangle, he can be an improver. RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (8) has finished in 3rd at both runs since returning from a break, the latest when finding the line in good order behind GOES BOOM. Suited with a closing shot, look for him late. SELECTIONS: JOVIAL JULIE (1), ZARAS HEAVEN (3), LORD DENZEL (2), RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (8) SUGGESTED BET: JOVIAL JULIE (1) to win
RACE THREE
SHERIFF JUJON (5) eased back to find position last start and with an even tempo throughout the 2040m trip, arrived in fine style to claim the prize. That had followed an eye-catching run in a qualifier over the AP mile when probing for space and only 5m in arrears. He can arrive again here. ULTIMATE AD (3) worked forward in a qualifier last start before receiving cover but then couldn’t go with them in the latter stages when down the line behind the in-form HARD TO HEAR. A winner here 3 starts back when leading all the way at this trip, he can fire the 1st shot again here. LITTLE BOLT (2) returns from a break, sent for a let-up following a mid-field finish in a qualifier after being locked away from inside the 2nd line. With an easy trip on offer fresh-up, he is in the mix. LETTUCEFIRESTAR (6) has been in the money at his past 4 in succession here on the triangle, the latest when leading all the way to claim a smart win at this trip. The gate hurts, but he has claims.
SELECTIONS: SHERIFF JUJON (5), ULTIMATE AD (3), LITTLE BOLT (2), LETTUCEFIRESTAR (6) SUGGESTED BET: SHERIFF JUJON (5) to win
RACE FOUR THERESACHANCE (8) took on the lamp lighting duties in a significantly stronger contest last start and setting it up for a strong closing 800m, just couldn’t quite stave off the challengers, holding on for 3rd. Gunned down in front at each of his past 3 starts, he can chase here and looks to get every chance. CIRCLE LINE (7) will need a slice of luck to angle off the pegs in the early stages to find the running line, as the pegs do not look the place to be in transit here. He will take great benefit from his latest appearance when 2nd up from a break and strong from the breeze when 4m in arrears. Just needs a rub of the green to take this. NOLONGA YOUR CHOICE (2) will strip fitter from his latest offering when 1st up in 18 months. Settling in the pocket trail, his condition just faded in the closing stages. He can be around the mark. BEZZA (6) wasn’t too far away in her 1st outing here in Qld and then last start struck trouble in the run ending her chances. Despite the tough gate, if able to find position cheaply, she is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: THERESACHANCE (8), CIRCLE LINE (7), NOLONGA YOUR CHOICE (2), BEZZA (6) SUGGESTED BET: THERESACHANCE (8) to win
RACE FIVE
TIMELESS APPEAL (9) was sent to the post as fav last start from this same gate over the 1780m. Making a move mid-race, she was 3-wide for a fair portion of the contest when 10m from the winner in finishing mid-field. That followed an all they way win from the five-hole and despite the 2nd line, back to mares only company suits. SPECIAL RESERVE (6) started from the 2nd line last start and after finding running-line position, worked home in good order to grab the bronze when 4m in arrears of the winner. That followed a solid effort when mid-field after easing early and then making a wide run and despite the tough gate can challenge here. DIAMONDSFROMHEAVEN (5) returns from a long break here, sent for a spell when finishing runner-up when sent out a red figure fav back in May. The gate hurts, but with the right trip she has podium claims. TRACES OF TARA (3) released the front last start and from the pocket trail was 9m from the winner. Arriving in time to score after starting from a wide gate the start prior, she can again fire the 1st shot here.
SELECTIONS: TIMELESS APPEAL (9), SPECIAL RESERVE (6), DIAMONDSFROMHEAVEN (5), TRACES OF TARA (3) SUGGESTED BET: TIMELESS APPEAL (9) to win
RACE SIX WILD ABOUT TOWN (2) cut the breeze over the sprint trip last start and was in for the fight when only 4m in arrears of the winner. Runner-up the start prior after a mid-race move from the 2nd line to get in on the action and only beaten a head, he can look to fight them off here. STUDLEIGH WILL (4) went to the breeze last start from this same gate when rolling the sleeves to do the tough stuff. Fighting hard to be 5m from the winner, it had followed a down the line run behind GUTS. Limiting the early burn will be key to his chances and if able to do that, will be in the finish. BE ON THE SLY (7) took on a 2nd division qualifier last start when snagged back from gate 5 to look for a softer trip against the poles. That followed a luckless effort and with an easy run here can chime into the exotics. MONTANA EXPRESS (6) eased back from the wide gate last start and then couldn’t pick them u plate behind CALL ME TRISH. Runner-up the start prior, he can do some work and can be thereabouts.
SELECTIONS: WILD ABOUT TOWN (2), STUDLEIGH WILL (4), BE ON THE SLY (7), MONTANA EXPRESS (6) SUGGESTED BET: WILD ABOUT TOWN (2) to win
RACE SEVEN
TULHURST KATE (10) doesn’t have any favours for this gate but is going well enough to overcome the impediment in this line-up. A winner here 3 starts back from gate 4 when swooping late to arrive for the prize, she was only beaten a half-head at her next start before again arriving for the win here last start. BERTILS DELIGHT (2) did some early work last start to find position last start before fading in the concluding stages. Angled to the pegs for the short-cuts here 2 starts back, she has good speed off the arm that can put her into a good position from this gate and she has claims. WHERES SEGGY (9) broke the maiden tag last start when making the most of gate 1 in taking them all the way. Turning that into a sprint home with a sharp closing panel, he can sprint late here. WECANONLYHOPE (7) struck trouble in the run last start and was retired from the race with an issue. That made it successive starts that gear had been her undoing and had followed 3 successive minors. With the right luck she can chime in.
SELECTIONS: TULHURST KATE (10), BERTILS DELIGHT (2), WHERES SEGGY (9), WECANONLYHOPE (7) SUGGESTED BET: TULHURST KATE (10) to win
RACE EIGHT AMAYA BECOMES (5) took on the AP mile last start when looking to take them all the way. Setting the tempo, she was collared in the stretch when falling 7m short behind CALLMEDEMARO. Only 4m away the start prior in a strong mile, her win from the front here 3 starts back was strong and she can repeat that here. AROONA (2) struck trouble last start that ended his night early. That had followed a handy effort when closing nicely from back in the pack. 4 starts back he was probing for space that didn’t open and was luckless in defeat, with his 3 starts since that run all from tough gates. He can be sharper. ROCK THE HOUSE (6) returns from a freshen, sent for a let-up following his last start victory over the sprint trip when arriving in time for a nice win. A winner at 2 of his past 3, the gate makes it tough. REAP THE REWARDS (3) is still a maiden taking on some more experienced rivals here. Managing to place in 2 of 4 career starts to date, he can be thereabouts in this.
SELECTIONS: AMAYA BECOMES (5), AROONA (2), ROCK THE HOUSE (6), REAP THE REWARDS (3) SUGGESTED BET: AMAYA BECOMES (5) to win
