RACE TWO
MISTER COLE (3) looked to have plenty to offer last start over the AP mile when securing a great run in transit. Right-lined at the top of the home stretch, he had to settle for the bronze when 1.5m from THE MONEY BALL. Only a head away the start prior, he finds the right contest to secure the win. SUGARKANE (6) was a beaten fav last start when doing some early work and then chasing hard to be 5m in arrears of the leader and winner who was able to scoot home in 56.9 from the front, making it tough for the chasers. Arriving for a smart win here 2 starts back, the gate stings, but she has claims. THE WARP REACTOR (5) was sent forward quickly from gate 6 in the early stages over the 2040m last start and was able to take control cheaply and then keep them chasing. He will be in the mix. TARGARYEN HANOVER (2) was keen in front last start and faded over the 2040m. Beaten a neck here 2 starts back when leading all bar the closing strides, he can fire the 1st shot from this alley. SELECTIONS: MISTER COLE (3), SUGARKANE (6), THE WARP REACTOR (5), TARGARYEN HANOVER (2) SUGGESTED BET: MISTER COLE (3) to win
RACE THREE
FOREVER ROCKING (1) was obliged to do it the tough way last start when sitting outside the leader over this trip. With a strong closing section, she was in for the fight, holding on for 2nd. Hitting the line nicely the start prior when 4m from the winner SUGARKANE, the gate and options look ideal. DARBY BRIGHTS (3) added another minor last start to stretch her placing record to 6 in succession, finishing runner-up at her past 4. Looking to take them all the way over the 2200m at Marburg last start, she led all bar the most important stride when beaten a head and she is in the thick of it here. NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (8) has been in the money at her past 4 in succession, the latest when looming up strongly to get within a neck of the winner ONLY IN ROME. With the right trail, she can feature. OUR LITTLE GIRL (7) took on a mares qualifier 2 starts back when only 5m from the winner SPECIAL RESREVE after a soft trip in the pocket trail. With a similar type trip and back to the triangle, she will be probing.
SELECTIONS: FOREVER ROCKING (1), DARBY BRIGHTS (3), NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (8), OUR LITTLE GIRL (7) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR SCHEU CREEK (2) was beaten by the gate last start at Marburg, landing inside the 2nd line he went to the line in gridlock, never seeing the space to issue a challenge. He was a smart winner there 3 starts back and then was only a neck from the winner FLO RYDA at his next outing. He has the early speed to capitalise here. TRACES OF TARA (1) had been building towards a win after successive placings from 2nd line gates over the 2040m trip. Back to the sprint trip last start, she secured the right run in transit to finish over the top to claim the prize. With a cosy trip here, she will be ready to take the passing lane shot. TOANUI SPIRIT (8) was looking to complete a hat-trick of victories here last start when finding the front over the 2040m trip. Setting a slick closing 800m, she was grabbed on the line and despite the 2nd line gate can feature here. BRIGHTON PRINCE (7) was a strong winner here 3 starts back when sent to the breeze and packing too much power to score. Freshened following that win, he will need a slice of luck here and will be probing.
SELECTIONS: SCHEU CREEK (2), TRACES OF TARA (1), TOANUI SPIRIT (8), BRIGHTON PRINCE (7) SUGGESTED BET: SCHEU CREEK (2) to win
RACE FIVE
DUKE (1) has had 3 starts since arriving in Aus to join the John McMullen barn and hasn’t really fired a shot since landing. Striking trouble in the run over the 1780m here 2 starts back, that run was sandwiched either side of performances where he was asked to do work. He finds the right type of contest here to show improvement and get on the board. GO ANNE GO (7) has placed in 4 of her 6 outings here on the triangle, including a passing lane effort 3 starts back from this same gate when 1.5m from the winner. Finding the front last start, she was grabbed in the closing stages and with the cosy trip here, will be probing for gaps to offer late. A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (4) didn’t have much go his way last start when forced to retreat and then not seeing the clearest passage home. He can do the work and might need to grind away here. PRETTYCOMPACT (8) was a winner here 4 starts back when finishing best after a brief look to find the front before settling in the 1x1. She may need a rub of the green but can be looking to offer.
SELECTIONS: DUKE (1), GO ANNE GO (7), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (4) PRETTYCOMPACT (8) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-7-8
RACE SIX TORQUE IS TRENDING (4) has started this campaign on 2 occasions following a break and looks to have found a suitable assignment here after meeting some stronger, more experienced rivals. Working in behind the leader last start, he was within 5m of TRUE STEPPER over the AP 2138m last start and with early speed looks to get his chance. CHILI ROCKS (6) started from this same gate last start when hitting the line strongly in the closing stages to be 6m from the winner. Runner-up at her previous 2 starts over this trip, her run 2 back when best of the chasers behind MIND OF MY OWN had merit. A win isn’t far away for this filly. HURRIKANE SPECIAL (1) will take some benefit from her latest start when 2nd up from a break. Finding the front prior to releasing, she held on for the silver behind LANOCH BOY. The gate suits. ILLUMINOSCITY (3) is nearing a maiden breaking win after placing at her past 3 starts, taking her record to 3 placings in 6 attempts. Best of the rest behind MAC SWEENEY last start, she is a place chance again.
SELECTIONS: TORQUE IS TRENDING (4), CHILI ROCKS (6), HURRIKANE SPECIAL (1), ILLUMINOSCITY (3) SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE IS TRENDING (4) to win
RACE SEVEN
FOUR FOR FOUR (2) did some early work looking for position at AP 2 starts back and was the best of the chasers behind the big winner BETTERTHANDIAMONDS. That was exactly the right form to claim a maiden here at her next outing in nice style. From the good gate she looks the testing material. MAC SWEENEY (8) will be further tightened from his latest outing when 2nd up from a long break. Finding them too sharp when resuming, he was down the line over the AP mile. Back to the 1780m here at Redcliffe last start, he showed the speed to lead and powered away to a big 24m victory. With the right trail in the early stages, he can go again. CAM YOU FEEL IT (4) did plenty things wrong in the run last start and was still able to fight hard to hold on for the silver when 4m from the winner. He is getting close to victory and can feature. MELTON MAX GENTLE (1) broke the maiden tag here 3 starts back when proving too strong for his opponents. Not much has gone to plan in the 2 starts since, but he can bob-up into the placings.
SELECTIONS: FOUR FOR FOUR (2), MAC SWEENEY (8), CAM YOU FEEL IT (4), MELTON MAX GENTLE (1) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT TORQUE IN CONTROL (8) is crying out to breakthrough to claim victory after placing in 5 of her 8 career outings. Runner-up in all 3 starts here on the triangle, she has been beaten a pimple in 2 of those, including the latest when working hard in the run. The gate stings, but she can use her experience to advantage. OUR ULTIMATE BONNY (3) was 1st up in Qld last start when sent to the front from gate 4 at AP. Looking at keeping the tempo rolling, she couldn’t finish them off, fading in the stretch. Her 1st career start at Menangle was a nice effort for 2nd and back to the triangle, she will give them plenty to chase. FAST TRACKER (1) sat in the pocket trail last start and was carted out of contention by a tiring OUR ULTIMATE BONNY. IF he can get to the lane with momentum, he can go much closer here. TANCALTRA LIS (7) was returning from a break here last start after 2 outings early in the season. Finding the pocket trail from gate 2, she was 3m from the winner in holding 3rd. With an easy trip she can chime in again.
SELECTIONS: TORQUE IN CONTROL (8), OUR ULTIMATE BONNY (3), FAST TRACKER (1), TANCALTRA LIS (7) SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE IN CONTROL (8) to win
RACE NINE PERFECT FEELING (1) has been racing consistently and consistently securing good barriers in the process. Taking them all the way 3 starts back, he has placed at his past 2 when grabbed late. With the benefit of the ace and the absence of pressure drawn to his outside, can grip on for the prize. DANCING IN MANOLOS (2) found her race last start to take them all the way over this trip. That took her career to 2 wins, with both victories coming in the past 6 of her 53 starts. With some early speed, she might just be able to squeeze into the pocket and from there would can run the quinella. SOMEWHEREINHEAVEN (7) found the line in nice style last start when mid-field behind DANCING IN MANOLOS after retreating early from gate 5. With the cosy trip, she can look to fill the minors. CAMPBELL BEST (4) is a last start placegetter in a Trot Rods heat after sitting on the outside and whacking away to hold 3rd. In a field that looks to have limited winning chances, he can place.
SELECTIONS: PERFECT FEELING (1), DANCING IN MANOLOS (2), SOMEWHEREINHEAVEN (7), CAMPBELL BEST (4) SUGGESTED BET: PERFECT FEELING (1) to win
