The updated Order of Entry for this year’s $350,000 Group 1 J.J. Atkins on June 6 has today been released.
The Matt Cumani-trained Khoekhoe skyrocketed to the top of the list after taking home $450,000 via the Vobis Sires Showdown at Caulfield last month.
Local sensation Rothfire is second-elect on the ballot; the Rob Heathcote-trained colt winning his first four starts before coming up short on a heavy track in the QTIS 2YO Jewel in March.
Rounding out the podium is another inter-state galloper, the Snowden-trained Wild Ruler, who has made his way to the Sunshine State to compete in this week’s Group 2 Champagne Classic.
Queensland’s star crop of two-year-olds will all be on show in this year’s edition, with the likes of Isotope, Wisdom Of Water and Gotta Kiss expected to take their place in the 1400 metre feature.
Isotope, who sits 21st on the ballot, currently leads the market as a $5 favourite after winning both of her two starts to date in dominant fashion.
