RACE TWO
WILLSINTOWN (9) eased from gate 4 last start when making a wide and searching run to get within a half-neck of the winner. Snagged back and buried in the run 2 starts back, it followed a late charge in a blanket finish where he was only 1.5m away. Despite a poor record here at The Creek, he might just be able to prevail in an open contest. MODERNDAY FALCON (4) returns from a spell and has been meeting much stronger opponents than he will square off against here. Forced to race tough in the breeze last start, he wilted late behind BETTATHANIDEAL which followed a 3rd to AWESOME OLLIE. He can fire some early bullets. WHATA REACTOR (8) will be requiring a slice of luck from this gate as she looks likely to be buried in the run. Only 3.5m away 2 starts back when behind the leader, she will be probing for the gaps. HURRIKANE SPECIAL (5) set the tempo last time out after finding the front form gate 2 and was only worried out of it in the last strides by GROOVY MISS ANNIE. The gate stings but she has place hopes. SELECTIONS: WILLSINTOWN (9), MODERNDAY FALCON (4), WHATA REACTOR (8), HURRIKANE SPECIAL (5) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE THREE
VIEWBYTHEROCK (10) was grinding it out in the breeze last start over the mile in a much tougher contest. Game in defeat, fading the latter stages, the winner BLACK HAWK JOE claimed a 1.53 mile. Runner-up at his previous 2 starts, he has the tough gate to negotiate here but is racing in great touch and can overcome the impediment. COBBLER LANE (6) held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start and made a closing play to get within a head of the winner STORM GILBERT. He found them too slick the start prior which had followed 4 successive placings. In this line-up he can throw down a big challenge. CHROMOZONE (3) speared out from gate 5 over the Redcliffe sprint trip last start and set the tempo when only nabbed in the closing strides. Not that far from AMAZING DREAM in a mares qualifier the start previous, she will give them something to chase. KAY NORA SHANNON (1) claimed the bronze last start despite not seeing the smoothest of passages. With the cosy trip on offer here, she can be probing to take a closing shot.
SELECTIONS: VIEWBYTHEROCK (10), COBBLER LANE (6), CHROMOZONE (3), KAY NORA SHANNON (1) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-6-10
RACE FOUR NOR WESTA (4) returned from a spell and was a Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when working home strongly despite the tempo setting it up for those at the front. He made a mess of things when 2nd up and then last start was bereft of luck. With a slightly improve gate, she looks to get every chance. DANCINGINTHEDARK (10) made the most of conditions at Redcliffe on Thursday when pouncing on the poles from gate 3 and then making it a one-act affair in claiming a comfortable 5m victory. Hitting the line strongly when beaten a lip the start prior, she can look to build off those here. BLACKJEWEL (1) was buried away here last star from inside the 2nd line when taking short-cuts to grab the bronze when only 3m in arrears. With the option of the economical trip, she again chime in. KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (11) has been kept fresh since her last appearance when down the line behind JAMAICAN RESORT. Placed in 3 of 10 starts here at The Creek, she is a podium hope.
SELECTIONS: NOR WESTA (4), DANCINGINTHEDARK (10), BLACKJEWEL (1), KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (11) SUGGESTED BET: NOR WESTA (4) to win
RACE FIVE
This shapes as a tricky contest with the early speed and positioning key to the hopes of a few off the front. Although probably better suited in front, REGAL NIGHTSHADE (10) might just appreciate a good tempo in front after placing his past 2 at Redcliffe. 6m in arrears of FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT last start, look for him late. HIT THE TRACK (7) has the visitors draw as he looks for his 1st win in Qld. Doing his share of work last start at Redcliffe, he held on after the tough trip when best of the rest behind the big winner ACOLTNAMEDSU. He has struggled to land a marble in 3 Qld attempts bit can still challenge in this. COPPICE (5) might just appreciate this class of contest after meeting some tougher types in recent starts. Soon locked away last start, he was sound to the line behind FOUR STARZZZ FORSA and is in the mix. RED TERROR (3) was buried in the run from inside the 2nd line last start and never saw the gaps when required to lose all chance. They were too sharp for him the start prior and this looks more suitable.
SELECTIONS: REGAL NIGHTSHADE (10), HIT THE TRACK (7), COPPICE (5), RED TERROR (3) SUGGESTED BET: REGAL NIGHTSHADE (10) each-way
RACE SIX ROLL WITH ROCKY (3) covered plenty of The Triangle last start when wide from gate 6 as BREACH THE BEACH claimed the prize. A beaten fav the start prior, again from gate 6 when grinding it out in the breeze, he should appreciate the improved alley after 3 stingers in succession. He gets every chance here. MEGA STAR (9) did his share of work in transit last start when rolling the sleeves to do it the tough way. In for the fight when fading the closing stages to hold 2nd it was a solid effort. A big winner 3 starts back when putting up a 21m margin, he can trail through and look to throw it down again. MACH LE MORE (7) was 2nd up in Qld last time out over the Redcliffe 1780m where he was able to overcome gate 8 in claiming a smart win in a strong last 800m when 2m clear of MEGA STAR. The wide gate is a stinger, but he is in the mix. MISTER DIAMOND (6) held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line here last time out and was making a play when 3m from the winner to grab 3rd. The wider gate is a query, but he can be thereabouts.
SELECTIONS: ROLL WITH ROCKY (3), MEGA STAR (9), MACH LE MORE (7), MISTER DIAMOND (6) SUGGESTED BET: ROLL WITH ROCKY (3) to win
RACE SEVEN
MONTANA LAD (3) was sent around them from the 2nd line in the early stages last start when forced to grind it out in the breeze. Fading under the tough run when down the line behind REMEMBER ME NOW, he can look to work to the front here. A winner of 2 of his previous 3 when out in front, he can look for the premier position. SOMEBEACHSOMEGIFT (2) has been freshened since his last outing when mid-field and 6m from the winner JIVE over the mile. Only a half-head in arrears the start prior when using the passing lane, he can look to tuck in behind he speed here and be ready to issue a challenge in the stretch. CALLMEDEMARO (9) held the 1x1 rail from the 2nd line last time out at Redcliffe when hitting the line soundly behind OUR UNCLE ALAN. Placed his previous 3 in succession, he can be thereabouts. A KERRY MAN (6) started from gate 9 over the Redcliffe sprint trip last time out and settled a long way back when making a wide run as the leader COBALT BLUES dictated. The gate stings but he can chime in.
SELECTIONS: MONTANA LAD (3), SOMEBEACHSOMEGIFT (2), CALLMEDEMARO (9), A KERRY MAN (6) SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA LAD (3) to win
RACE EIGHT THE MONEY BALL (9) will take good benefit from his latest outing when returning from a 6-week break between outings. Locked away from inside the 2nd line he was closing in good order when not that far from HAVING THE FAITH. With the right cart into the contest, this looks within reach. ALI DOWNUNDER (1) started fav on Thursday at Redcliffe from gate 4 when easing early before showing strong finishing power to swoop over the top to score in some nice closing splits. Runner-up the start previous when charging home from back in the pack, he has the options to challenge hard. GOTTA MOMENT (3) will be on the two-day back-up from Saturday night where he takes on a 2nd division qualifier. Doing it the tough way 2 starts back, limiting the early burn, he can chime in. IFOUNDTHEBEACH (5) is another on the back-up from Saturday night where he looks a chance in a 2138m event form a good alley. His form has been sound without threatening yet he looks an exotic hope in this.
SELECTIONS: THE MONEY BALL (9), ALI DOWNUNDER (1), GOTTA MOMENT (3), IFOUNDTHEBEACH (5) SUGGESTED BET: THE MONEY BALL (9) to win
RACE NINE ITZ MY GENERATION (2) has been to the track 3 times this campaign and been the runner-up on each occasion. The latest came from the 2nd line at Redcliffe when sent forward to work in the run and he was able to hang tough in finishing a head away. With the improved gate, he gets his chance. LITTLE CHANGE (5) has had 4 runs back from a spell and lines up here for Graham Dwyer after previous trainer Rickie Alchin left him here in Qld. A winner when 2nd up at Redcliffe when finishing hard to claim a 3m victory, he was luckless last start when locked away. He can challenge here. THREO (8) backs up from a claiming event on Friday where he looked a possible place hope. Not suited from a wide gate 2 starts back, his run 3 back had merit and he will be probing for gaps here. OUR UNCLE ALAN (3) returned to the Donny Smith barn last start and made immediate impact when proving too strong from the breeze to claim a 3m margin. With added fitness he can feature.
SELECTIONS: ITZ MY GENERATION (2), LITTLE CHANGE (5), THREO (8), OUR UNCLE ALAN (3) SUGGESTED BET: ITZ MY GENERATION (2) to win
