Racing Queensland confirms that the Cairns Jockey Club race meeting today, Saturday January 9, has been abandoned due to weather and the state of the track.
The region has encountered inclement weather throughout the week and a further 52mm of rain overnight has resulted in the track being deemed unsuitable for racing on.
As such, an additonal race has been added to the next Cairns Jockey Club race meeting scheduled for Tuesday 19 January.
