RACE TWO
SIR JULIAN (5) found the 1x1 trail from this gate last start over the sprint trip and was trying to pick up late metres when 5m from ARTHUR LOWE. Runner-up at both starts prior, including a half-head margin behind CARLA CLARE after setting the tempo, he can look to pinch this. HANDSOME HERO (2) should appreciate a drop to the Veterans ranks after tackling some stronger events in recent outings. Working home strongly from a wide gate last start when mid-field to CHEVRONS REWARD, he can press forward here and look to throw down a serious challenge. ITZ BETTOR TO WIN (1) started at huge odds last start over the mile and after finding the front looked set to score a major boilover. Nabbed in the closing strides when a half-neck from the winner, he has the gate and the options to be thereabouts again. COLONELY JOY (4) eased from gate 5 here on Tuesday over the mile to settle at the rear before charging over the top of them in the closing stages for the prize. He is in the mix one again. SELECTIONS: SIR JULIAN (5), HANDSOME HERO (2), ITZ BETTOR TO WIN (1), COLONELY JOY (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE THREE After following him in recent weeks and proving costly, has TACTICAL RESPONSE (2) finally landed his race to breakthrough. Runner-up at his past 2 attempts, he released last start over the 2138m after finding the front early and then holding 2nd to LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN. Only beaten a head the start prior after doing it the tough way when racing first over, he looks to get every hope. STRADDIE (9) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins, the latest when leading throughout and cruising home to an easy 7m victory. That followed a swooping win at the mile in the Bill Dixon after settling rearward from the 2nd line. With even luck in transit, he can be ready to arrive over the top. LITTLE BOLT (3) held a forward spot from gate 2 last start and when asked for the effort had bullets to fire in arriving for a tidy win. His effort 2 starts back in the 4YO Championships was full of merit and he will not be far away here. SO KOOL MASTER (1) was closing in good order behind ARTHUR LOWE last start and that followed a 3rd behind LENNY THE LEGEND. With the economical trip against the poles, he can be ready to make a closing play.
SELECTIONS: TACTICAL RESPONSE (2), STRADDIE (9), LITTLE BOLT (3), SO KOOL MASTER (1) SUGGESTED BET: TACTICAL RESPONSE (2) to win
RACE FOUR WINKANDITSOVER (1) speared across from gate 4 to take control here 2 starts back and once in control was never in danger when claiming victory by 6m. Hitting the line in good order to grab the bronze last start, his record when leading is strong and from the front will take some catching. LEFT A TERROR (8) is moving ever closer to a drought breaking win after placing in 3 of his past 4 starts. Chasing for the bronze when 4m from LENNY THE LEGEND last start, he led them deep into the stretch the start prior when nabbed on the wire by OAXACAN DREAM. He will be ready to snipe. COURAGEOUS SAINT (2) has been forced to overcome 2nd line gates at his past 4 in succession and should appreciate a return to the front line here. Working home smartly last start to be 5m from LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN, he was only a half-neck away the start prior. From the gate he can throw it down. SPEEDY DOMINIC (4) delivered the boilover when arriving over the top of them here 2 starts back from a smart win at the mile. Strong to the line last start over the 2138m trip, he can be joining in late in this.
SELECTIONS: WINKANDITSOVER (1), LEFT A TERROR (8), COURAGEOUS SAINT (2), SPEEDY DOMINIC (4) SUGGESTED BET: WINKANDITSOVER (1) to win
RACE FIVE MACH LE MORE (1) was soon buried in the run from inside the 2nd line last time out. When the gap did open, he charged through and was attacking the line strongly to within 2m of the winner ROLL WITH ROCKY. With the gate to be at the pointy end of the action, he looks to get a breakthrough chance. B MAC C (2) eased from gate 5 here 2 starts back and saved for one closing sprint was wide off the track and making a closing dive. Just arriving too late when a head short of the winner, he was always facing a tough task last week as ALWAYS A SECRET blasted home from the front. With his best gate for some time, he can challenge. RANGER BOMB (6) was able to overcome gate 6 last start when grinding out a gritty win from the breeze in slick time. Runner-up to WILL THE WIZARD the start prior, he might need to do it the tough way once again, but he is up to that task. HAVING THE FAITH (3) tried to take them all the way last start from gate 2 over the mile but could not finish them off when 3m in arrears of the winner. He will be close to the action to feature again.
SELECTIONS: MACH LE MORE (1), B MAC C (2), RANGER BOMB (6), HAVING THE FAITH (3) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-6
RACE SIX It is only a front-line FFA, but it looks an intriguing contest, and the early heat could be dialled up with some speedy beginners drawn wider. Fitter following his 1st up run, MAJOR CAM (1) comes up with the perfect gate. His run last week was super when buried and then not finding the gaps when needed yet still only 5m in arrears. He can be coiled and ready to strike. CRUZ (7) faces the tricky gate and might need to do his share of work in the run here. Beaten by gate 12 last start over the 2138m trip, he is a vastly different horse in front and if the fuse does get lit for him to zoom across to dictate, he will give them plenty to chase. FAME ASSURED (4) is running some terrific races without being a winning threat and last start was again charging home in the closing stages. 1m from the winner SECRETAGENT TYCOON, she had no luck in the Christmas Cup behind ONE CHANGE. Positioning cheaply will be key to her chances. CHEVRONS REWARD (6) steps up to the open class ranks for the first time in Qld and does so with strong winning form. Equalling the mares track record at this trip last start when powering home late, she can sit off the tempo for the closing shot. SELECTIONS: MAJOR CAM (1), CRUZ (7), FAME ASSURED (4), CHEVRONS REWARD (6) SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR CAM (1) to win
RACE SEVEN
JOHNNY WHITE (1) released the speed from this gate 3 runs back and chased home KINGOFTHESTARS to claim the silver. Not that far from ESCALERA at his next appearance, he was closing strongly from gate 4 last time out when 3rd to CARLA CLARE in mid-week company. From the gate he has the chance to capitalise. TENNYSON BROMAC (4) went into the Redcliffe Christmas Cup last start fresh but had been given 2 searching trials to have him ready for the assault. Forced to work 3-wide on the way home over the 2280m, he was giving to the line in holding 3rd behind FRANCO LANDRY. The added fitness can see him throw it down here. SUBTLE DELIGHT (8) is a consistent performer and last time out his effort was sound for no reward behind SECRETAGENT TYCOON. Closing strongly from tough gates his previous 2, he can be probing for a way clear. LENNY THE LEGEND (3) finished the last season in a flurry with 3 successive placings followed up with back-to-back victories. Tough from the breeze last start, this is a step-up, but he cannot be ignored. SELECTIONS: JOHNNY WHITE (1), TENNYSON BROMAC (4), SUBTLE DELIGHT (8), LENNY THE LEGEND (3) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT LISA LINCOLN (3) started from inside the 2nd line last tie out when angled away from the markers in the early stages. Chasing the leader and winner FOND MEMORIES resolutely, she was able to get within a neck of the prize. Closing smartly when 5m from CHEVRONS REWARD the start prior, she can look to capitalise here. FEEL LIKE DANCIN (1) was repelled for the lamp lighting duties last start after taking a good look and was then forced to do it the tough way. Fading late under the tough trip, she was making strong ground the start prior in some slick individual splits. She has all the options to make her challenge. GODDESS JUJON (6) started from the 2nd line last start and was sound to the line when chasing behind PELOSI. Hitting the line in nice order the start prior, the small field suits and she can chime in. CORSINI (2) eased from gate 4 last start to find position and from back in the pack was always facing a task to take any ground of those near the front. Diving in behind the speed here can see her join in.
SELECTIONS: LISA LINCOLN (3), FEEL LIKE DANCIN (1), GODDESS JUJON (6), CORSINI (2) SUGGESTED BET: LISA LINCOLN (3) to win
RACE NINE GEE UP NEDDY (10) had a 40m tape to negotiate here last week under the conditions when working home strongly to be within 4m of the winner GARLAND GREENE. Only 3m shy of sweeping the DJA Series when runner-up in the final, the 20m looks inviting here and he can look to capitalise. NEEDABACARDI (8) was asked to do his share of work from the 20m tape last start when facing the breeze. Looming up in the stretch, it was only the finishing power of GARLAND GREENE that he could not repel. A smart winner when finding the front the start prior, he will be in the thick of the action again. MONARO MIA (9) has tackled mobile start events at her past 2 outings, the latest when runner-up to ARNOLD in the Trotters Sprint. A winner over the 2138m the start prior, if she can get the start right, she can feature. GARLAND GREENE (11) came with a perfectly timed run to score over the longer trip here last week after settling at the back of the small field throughout. From the 20m he can be in for the fight once again.
SELECTIONS: GEE UP NEDDY (10), NEEDABACARDI (8), SKYLINE (6), GARLAND GREENE (11) SUGGESTED BET: GEE UP NEDDY (10) to win
RACE TEN PELOSI (7) took on a stronger field of mares last week from a wide gate when saved for a closing shot at them. Powering home in some slick closing panels when wide off the track, it was a dominant win. Back to qualifying grade mares, she has the gate to overcome, but she should be too classy. MADAMOISELLE JUJON (9) will be looking to complete a hat-trick of victories after sweeping the recent Knights and Dames series at Redcliffe. Using gate 1 to full advantage in both wins when leading throughout, she will need to chase here but can be looking to make a play. JIGGLE AND JIVE (8) will be requiring a slice of luck to fall her way at some stage to see open road. Game in defeat at Redcliffe last start when wide and working yet only beaten a head, she can chime in. LOOKING FABULOUS (5) made a costly error last start that ended her chances. Covering plenty of the track the start prior, that had followed successive 2nd place returns and she can feature.
SELECTIONS: PELOSI (7), MADAMOISELLE JUJON (9), JIGGLE AND JIVE (8), LOOKING FABULOUS (5) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 7 / 5-8-9
