RACE TWO
This looms as the old conundrum of class versus map and which packs more punch. Finding his way into this race nicely under the conditions, LITTLE CHANGE (6) looks to be down slightly in grade but has the terrible gate to overcome. Within 5m of BEE GEES BANDIT last start, he was game when 3rd here 2 starts back. MISSINMEMATE (1) sits in the map corner and does not give too much away in class to LITTLE CHANGE. Wide off the track last start, he was not far behind LITTLE CHANGE in chasing home in the same race claimed by BEE GEES BANDIT. At his best in front, he looks the leerie and will be hoping to light the lamp on the winning post. KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (5) comes out of the same race as the top two when probing for a gap that did not arrive in time and only finishing 6.5m from the winner. With even luck, he is in the mix. NIKALONG HENRY (7) looks set to enjoy the soft run in behind the action and when the passing lane presents will be ready to take his shot. Gunned down late after setting the speed last start, he has podium claims.
SELECTIONS: LITTLE CHANGE (6), MISSINMEMATE (1), KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (5), NIKALONG HENRY (7) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-6-7
RACE THREE Asked to plenty of work in the run last start, RUM DELIGHT (2) was in for the fight last start. Starting from the 2nd line, he was sent around them in the early stages over the 2040m trip to cut the breeze. Looking under extreme pressure at the 300m, he rallied strongly to get within a neck of the winner. With the improved gate, he can dictate here. OUR ULTIMATE HANNA (1) held them all wide over the sprint trip here 3 starts back and from the front was able to take them all the way in comfortable fashion when claiming a 10m winning margin. Luckless here last start when searching for a way clear, she has the options from the gate to challenge. JOVIAL JULIE (7) was beaten by gate 9 last week when trying to make closing ground as GETALOADATHISGIRL used the passing lane to arrive. With a soft trip on offer, she will be probing. PACIFIC COIN (4) qualified for the Hustler Final to be held this Saturday when leading all the way in slick time over the 1780m here last week. It was a smart win in front, and he can be in the mix again.
SELECTIONS: RUM DELIGHT (2), OUR ULTIMATE HANNA (1), JOVIAL JULIE (7), PACIFIC COIN (4) SUGGESTED BET: RUM DELIGHT (2) to win
RACE FOUR ROUSEY (5) completed a six-pack of successive victories and in the 4 starts since, has been runner-up on 3 occasions. Sent to the post as the punters elect last start, she was obliged to race tough and was fighting all the way when 3m in arrears of the winner. Pressing forward here, this looks within her reach. BARBOO (8) was shooting for a hat-trick of victories 2 starts back following wins at the 2040m and then 1780m trips. Taken to the grass at Kilcoy in search of the threepeat, he was down the line behind BEEF CITY STARZZZ. Wide off the track last start, he can get the right trip to offer here. MY ULTIMATE HESTON (9) was a tough winner here 2 starts back when rolling forward to face the breeze and in a race developed into a sprint home, had the edge to score. The gate hurts here, but he can be chiming in. WILLSINTOWN (1) settled in the trail last start when chasing home behind the dictating GOALKICKER. Just tapering off slightly in recent outings, from the gate in this line-up gives him a chance to find the podium.
SELECTIONS: ROUSEY (5), BARBOO (8), MY ULTIMATE HESTON (9), WILLSINTOWN (1) SUGGESTED BET: ROUSEY (5) to win
RACE FIVE HESLUVABLE (4) eased from a wide gate last start to secure peg line position but could not eat into the deficit as HEADWIN controlled it in front. Finishing strongly to score 4 starts back, 2nd line gates were his undoing at his next 2 outings and from this alley, he looks to get his chance to capitalise. LIFEINHEAVEN (7) started from gate 5 last time out when retreating early for position before making a wide and sweeping run to grab the silver behind the dictating GOALKICKER. Strong to the line the start prior when locked away, she will receive a soft trip here and if the gaps arrive in time, can challenge hard. BETTING BARON (1) has been without a win for 12 months now but has not been that far away in recent starts. Holding on for the bronze here 4 starts back, he has the early options to feature. GWENDALION (9) showed some early moves off the arm last start to take control over the sprint trip. Dialling it up from the 800m in a sharp last 800m, she was nabbed on the wire. The gate stings but she can be joining in against this line-up. SELECTIONS: HESLUVABLE (4), LIFEINHEAVEN (7), BETTING BARON (1), GWENDALION (9) SUGGESTED BET: LIFEINHEAVEN (7)
RACE SIX GUTS (4) was far from comfortable prior to release last start and could not go on with it in the closing stages to be down the line. Runner-up in successive starts prior to that effort, he can roll forward from the wider gate and look to bounce back here. MISS CATALINA (7) eased from gate 5 last start to find the poles and from back in the pack was making some nice metres in the closing stages to grab the bronze. Too far back and chasing against the tempo the start prior, she will secure the easy trip from the get-go to make her challenge. ALLY PINK (1) started from gate 9 last start and was a long way back and did not make an impact in the closing stages as PLATINUM PROMISE powered home. With her best gate for some time, she can return a sharper effort there. BEEF CITY STARZZZ (9) was able to squeeze into the pocket trail from gate 3 last start over the AP mile but found them a little out of reach. A winner on the grass the start prior, with even luck in transit, he can feature. SELECTIONS: GUTS (4), MISS CATALINA (7), ALLY PINK (1), BEEF CITY STARZZZ (9) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-7-9
RACE SEVEN
IT AINT ROYAL (5) was stepping out at Redcliffe for the 1st time last week when obliged to roll the sleeves for the tough stuff outside the leader. In for the fight when holding on for the silver behind PEGGY STARDUST, he might need to do it the tough way once again but looks to have found suitable opposition to prevail. WEASEL (1) might need to be hustled early to protect a position here, but from the 2040m start point, he might just have enough early speed to repel them. Fading after a tough trip last start over this trip when the winner BUTCHERFEELGOOD scored by 21m, he will be poking around to offer his challenge. DUKE (8) started from gate 9 last week and the widest runner down the stretch was able to sweep over the top to victory. Mid-field behind the flying GINA TARANTELLA the start prior, he has claims once again. JINGLES BROMAC (6) lines up for Matt Elkins for the 2nd time, banished to the trials at his 1st appearance last time out. With a sharp trial to earn the return, he can feature in this line-up.
SELECTIONS: IT AINT ROYAL (5), WEASEL (1), DUKE (8), JINGLES BROMAC (6) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT MAKINMEFEELGOOD (3) has been winless for over 12 months now, his most recent offerings when hampered by tough barriers. 9m in arrears after easing to the running line from gate 9 last start, he will appreciate the improved alley here. Hustling hard out of the Hilux, this looks his chance to capitalise. ABBEY DIADEMA (4) will take further benefit from her latest offering when 2nd up from a spell. Settling in the running line from her 2nd line gate, she was sound to the line when 6m in arrears of the winner DUKE. Limiting the early burn to secure position can see her make a play for the prize. LITTLEDEE (9) has placed at her past 4 starts in succession and from the tricky gate looks best served to add another to that tally. Working hard from the breeze and holding 2nd last start, she can chime in again. LEAPING LEO (7) looks set to secure an economical run in-transit here, albeit likely 3 back along the poles. Holding on for 2nd last start after showing early hustle, he will be searching for the gaps.
SELECTIONS: MAKINMEFEELGOOD (3), ABBEY DIADEMA (4), LITTLEDEE (9), LEAPING LEO (7) SUGGESTED BET: MAKINMEFEELGOOD (3) to win
RACE NINE IMA REGAL JET (4) angled down to the poles from his 2nd line gate last time out when finishing 5.5m from the winner in steady time. Covering plenty of The Triangle the start prior when repelled for the spot outside the leader and still fighting on gamely, he can break a win drought in this. KID CALVERT (2) held the front from gate 1 last start and setting a steady temp in front was unable to fight them off in the closing stages. Working hard in the run when racing first over the start prior and holding on for the silver, he can be handy to the action here to make a challenge. RAYONG PRINCESS (8) was asked to work hard in the run last start and after the tough trip could not cope when fading out. Runner-up at both starts prior, she can look to bounce back here. MANY DELIGHTS (1) started from this same gate last start and was soon buried away in transit and facing a task. Settling a position or two closer this time, he can be thereabouts.
SELECTIONS: IMA REGAL JET (4), KID CALVERT (2), RAYONG PRINCESS (8), MANY DELIGHTS (1) SUGGESTED BET: IMA REGAL JET (4) to win
RACE TEN Another tough contest on a tricky night where the 2040m adds an extra layer to dissect in this field of maidens. JAMES THE JET (3) steps out to the longer journey for the 1st time in his career but with the strength of his last start, it does not look a concern. Game in defeat from the breeze, he looks the one. HURRIKANE KAT (5) eased from gate 6 last start and was trying to make closing ground wide off the track when mid-field to MELTON INSULTED. Working home strongly the start prior to grab the bronze, this is no harder and despite the gate can look to throw down a challenge. SHESFEELINSPECIAL (8) has started from the 2nd line at her last 2 starts, the latest when pinned down on the pegs and chasing behind CATCH PHRASE. With even luck in transit, she can place. LEFT IN THE WIND (7) has not been suited by wide gates at her past 2 starts and been wide off the track when trying to make ground. Closing nicely 3 starts back, she will be searching for gaps here.
SELECTIONS: JAMES THE JET (3), HURRIKANE KAT (5), SHESFEELINSPECIAL (8), LEFT IN THE WIND (7) SUGGESTED BET: JAMES THE JET (3) to win
