RACE TWO
MUSTANG DUDE (2) is yet to taste victory here in Qld but looks to have found the right conditions to turn that around here. He made a costly error last start from inside the 2nd line and 2 starts back was beaten by gate 6 when retreating to find the pegs. The improved gate is a big plus, and he can capitalise. KID CALVERT (1) tackled a Trot Rods scamper last start and was the best of the chasers behind the tear away winner LIVING FREE. 2 starts back he was sent forward to face the breeze from gate 3 and after the tough trip was still thereabouts as WHATA REACTOR took the win. With the easy trip he can challenge. ALLY PINK (4) has been thereabouts without threatening in recent starts but might just find this a shade below what she has been meeting. Only 5m away here 4 starts back, she remains in the mix. BERTILS FIREFOX (3) settled in the running line from a 2nd line barrier last start and was making a closing play to grab the silver when only a neck in arrears of the winner. He has claims from the gate. SELECTIONS: MUSTANG DUDE (2), KID CALVERT (1), ALLY PINK (4), BERTILS FIREFOX (3) SUGGESTED BET: MUSTANG DUDE (1) to win
RACE THREE OUR BOY BOBBY (5) has been to the races on 3 occasions and faced a 2nd line gate in all 3 and although drawn wide, should appreciate a front-line alley for the 1st time. Too strong for them to claim a gritty win 2nd up, he was strong to the line last start when only beaten a head. This looks ripe for the picking. SLIDE TO UNLOCK (4) is a 3YO filly by A Rocknroll Dance on debut for the Dixon barn, with the filly the first foal to the races out of the nine-time winning mare Arbit Candy. Looking good in a recent trial here at the track when doing work in the run and then pulling clear, she can strike 1st up. MOONNA NINA (6) has been kept fresh since her last outing when making a costly error at the start when midfield to KISSESFORYAMISSES. A nice AP winner 2 starts back, she can feature in this. JOY TO ALL (8) will take benefit from her latest outing when resuming from a spell and finding the line soundly behind REGAL NIGHTSHADE. Under these conditions she looks better suited and has podium claims. SELECTIONS: OUR BOY BOBBY (5), SLIDE TO UNLOCK (4), MOONNA NINA (6), JOY TO ALL (8) SUGGESTED BET: OUR BOY BOBBY (5) to win
RACE FOUR MY ULTIMATE HESTON (1) returned from a spell here 4 runs back when finishing over the top of them to claim a tidy win from gate 5 with the 2nd and 3rd placed runners both since claiming victories. Sharing 2nd when 2nd up in much stronger company, he has the gate and the map advantage is a big plus. WITH AUTHORITY (9) has been meeting much stronger opponents and despite gate 9, looks to get into this contest nicely. Down the line in a Band 5 event claimed by TWENTYEIGHTBLACK 2 starts back, he was gunned down late 3 runs back. With the right cart into the contest, he can challenge. MISTER COLE (5) has been to the track on 4 occasions since resuming from a spell and been in the money at 3 of those. Within 3.5m of the winner last start, he was only a half-head away 3 runs back and is firmly in the mix. COURAGEOUS LEO (8) was a winner here 2 starts back when weaving a passage to find the gaps and land the prize. Using the passing lane last start when runner-up, he has podium claims again here. SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE HESTON (1), WITH AUTHORITY (9), MISTER COLE (5), COURAGEOUS LEO (8) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FIVE Having her first look at The Triangle looks the only concern for AUNTY BELLA (3) in landing the 5th win of her career. Sent to the breeze from gate 6 over the AP mile she was too strong. Defeating JASPER in that event, the tables were turned at her next start when only beaten a head and she looks to have their measure. JAGGERS SWAGGER (2) powered home over the top of them 2 starts back at headquarters to score hie 2nd career win. Midfield behind a pair of smart 3YOs in the shape of JUSTA LITTLE BIT and BIG WHEELS last time out, he can settle handy from the good alley to join in at his 1st outing at the track. TYPHOON TORQUE (8) is not having much luck with barriers and lands gate 8 here after her past 3 have all been from the 2nd line. A winner when able to lead here 4 runs back, she can feature here. BROCK SING (9) opened his account last start at his 6th attempt when pressing forward from gate 5 at Narrabri to score. The gate is no luxury against some experienced types, but he has podium claims. SELECTIONS: AUNTY BELLA (3), JAGGERS SWAGGER (2), TYPHOON TORQUE (8), BROCK SING (9) SUGGESTED BET: AUNTY BELLA (3) to win
RACE SIX FAMOUS SHOES (1) was a winner at the sprint trip here 3 runs back when finishing strongly over the top of them from gate 8 to claim the prize. Runner-up last start when sent to the post as the fav, he comes up with the options from this alley and that gives him the opportunity to cash-in. FORTYFIVE ROCK (4) rolled forward from this gate last start and was forced to do it the tough way in the breeze when 5m in arrears of the winner. Not suited off the 2nd line 2 starts back, he was off the 2nd line 3 back when 5m from the winner. Pressing forward he can throw it down, the query being the 2040m. DOWNTOWN LUCCA (7) started from the four-hole last time out and after some early hustle eased for a trail and was soon locked away. Finding the space, he had the finishing power to arrive for the prize. He will be probing for an opening. BETTING BARON (9) started form gate 3 last start and after sliding into the running line was best of the rest behind ROCKNROLL PROMISE. Tough in the breeze 3 starts back when 2nd, he can chime in. SELECTIONS: FAMOUS SHOES (1), FORTYFIVE ROCK (4), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (7), BETTING BARON (9) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-7-9
RACE SEVEN SIR JUJON (5) was shooting for a hat-trick of victories when tackling a much stronger qualifier 3 runs back when down the line behind the winner LOMBO HEAVEN. Doing his share of work last start to secure a forward position, the run was solid when 3rd to PACIFIC COIN. The wide gate stings, but this is within reach. TODAYS HERO (1) found the pocket trail last start from gate 3 and then using the passing lane was chiming in late to grab the bronze when 7m from the winner HIT THE TRACK. Luckless the start prior when not that far away, he comes up with the options and with the early speed to hold them out if required, he can challenge. HESLUVABLE (4) eased at the start from gate 6 over the Narrabri 2160m trip 3 starts back and was making some late ground when within 5m of the winner. Finishing over the top of them last start, he is in the mix. DARBY BRIGHTS (7) sat in the pocket trail last start over the 2040m from gate 1 when beyond midfield behind PACIFIC COIN. With the economical trip on offer once again, she can be joining in. SELECTIONS: SIR JUJON (5), TODAYS HERO (1), HESLUVABLE (4), DARBY BRIGHTS (7) SUGGESTED BET: SIR JUJON (5) to win
RACE EIGHT ABERCROMBIE TAB (2) fired out early from the ace to take control here last start but was unable to hold off the closing challenge of LIVING GRAND when finishing with the silver. Fading the start prior when asked to work hard in the run, he can look to take control here and from the front be hard to stop. MISS LILY MAY (7) will need a rub of the green at some stage in transit but with the factors in her favour can certainly be ready to make a closing play via the passing lane. From gate 2 last start she ended up searching for runs along the inside and had the speed to arrive up the inside with a narrow victory. She will be probing here. CONDAFEW (9) broke a long run of outs here 2 starts back when using the passing lane to arrive for just his 2nd win at the track. He did not have the cleanest passage last start but will be charging home. PAGO PAGO (1) has now had 4 starts since returning from a spell and lands the best gate since the resumption. Hitting the line strongly over the AP mile 2 starts back to be within a half-neck, he can feature here. SELECTIONS: ABERCROMBIE TAB (2), MISS LILY MAY (7), CONDAFEW (9), PAGO PAGO (1) SUGGESTED BET: ABERCROMBIE TAB (2) to win
RACE NINE
SAINT KILDA BEACH (6) has done something serious to upset the barrier gods, landing gate 5 or 6 in her last 7 here at Redcliffe and overall been no closer than gate 5 at 14 of her past 15 starts. That did not stop her from attacking the line strongly last start from well back to be within 5m of the winner. Of course, the gate stings but she might just sneak home here. IDEAL SITUATION (1) will appreciate a trip against the peg-line and from this gate can be looking to turn around a long winless streak. Eased to the pegs here 5 runs back he was searching for the gaps when grabbing the bronze and then 3 back was 4m in arrears of the winner. The gate is a big plus. EL GRAN SENOR (2) will take great benefit from his last start when returning from a spell. Pressing forward to do some early work, he was not that far from the winner. From the gate he gets his chance. COREY WILLIAM (7) fired off the arm and looked to take them all the way here last start over the sprint trip. Setting as slick tempo, he was unable to see it out when fading to 3rd. He will be searching for gaps here. SELECTIONS: SAINT KILDA BEACH (6), IDEAL SITUATION (1), EL GRAN SENOR (2), COREY WILLIAM (7) SUGGESTED BET: SAINT KILDA BEACH (6)
RACE TEN
CALL ME TRISH (7) started from gate 1 over the AP 2138m trip 3 starts back and taking the trail was then making a closing play when 4m from the winner GASMONKEY. Again, from gate 1 at her next start in a 2nd division qualifier, she looked to make the closing play when only a neck in arrears. If she can get the passing lane with momentum, she can arrive. SIGNOR JUJON (4) had been knocking on the door after finishing as the runner-up on 4 successive occasions before finally getting through to score in gritty fashion here 3 starts back. Tackling stronger races at headquarters at his past 2, back to this grade, he can look to throw down the challenge. PACIFIC COIN (8) capitalised on the barrier last start to fire off the arm, take control and then take them all the way for a comfortable victory. With options from this alley, he can be joining in. SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (9) eased from gate 4 last start before trying to make some closing metres when 7m from the winner BLUE MOON RISING. The gate hurts but if the tempo suits, he can be chiming in.
SELECTIONS: CALL ME TRISH (7), SIGNOR JUJON (4), PACIFIC COIN (8), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (9) SUGGESTED BET: CALL ME TRISH (7) to win
