RACE TWO
BORSELLINO (3) was on debut at Newcastle over the 2030m against the older horses when sent to the post as the fav. After a torrid trip, he faded out to be near the rear of the pack. Trialling since that outing with a sharp hit out at Penrith, he heads North and can look for an immediate return. SPEAK THE TRUTH (5) has been to the track on 2 occasions and placed on both occasions. Angled to the pegs last start from gate 10, he was buried away but when finding clear space was able to attack the line in nice fashion to be within 3m of the winner. With added experience, he can challenge. ZARAS A TREASURE (6) resumed from a spell here last week when settling in the pocket trail from gate 1. Trying to make a closing play, she was 2m from the winner. The wide gate stings here. TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (8) was returning from a let up here last start when eased from gate 5 and settling near the rear. Sound to the line, he comes up with 2nd line options to chime into the action. SELECTIONS: BORSELLINO (3), SPEAK THE TRUTH (5), ZARAS A TREASURE (6), TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (8) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE THREE MELPARK MAGIC (7) faded after what looked a comfortable trip here on Saturday night but can bounce back here with a return to the 2138m. Over this trip 2 starts back he was hitting the line with gusto when 3m behind ORLANDO JOLT and receives a 20m swing on the handicaps here. With the right trip he gets a chance. IL PIRATA (5) looks well positioned under these conditions to threaten his win drought that dates back almost 12 months. Making good metres in the latter stages 2 runs back when within 10m of the gun MAJESTIC SIMON, if he can trot cleanly with the right tow into this, he can make a challenge. ORLANDO JOLT (12) is on the back-up from Saturday when again trying his luck in the open ranks. That followed successive wins over this trip and despite the 20m impost can make a play with the right cart home. RITEUR (2) stepped out in Qld for the 1st time last start for the visiting Morris stable when settling in the 1x1 trail. Looming up in the stretch he was 3m in arrears of the winner. A Menangle winner the start prior, he stays in the mix. SELECTIONS: MELPARK MAGIC (7), IL PIRATA (5), ORLANDO JOLT (12), RITEUR (2) SUGGESTED BET: MELPARK MAGIC (7) to win

Strong to the line, he has the improved alley here to capitalise. MISTERY ROAD (4) will take added benefit from his latest appearance when 3rd up from 12 months on the sidelines. Doing it hard in the run when holding on for the silver when 2nd up here at the mile, he was driven hard through a sub 27 opener 2nd up before finishing over the top. He might need to roll the sleeves again here. UNCLE LUKEY (9) made his 1st appearance in Qld when showing some early hustle from gate 1 before opting for the trail. Only 1m from THE GROGFATHER in a sharp mile, he can be swooping off the speed here. HEMSWORTH (8) had 4 starts in the South of NZ that included last start win at Gore before crossing the Tasman. He comes up trumps with the marble here and with the winning confidence matched with his gate speed, can go back-to-back. NINA SIMONE (3) returns from a spell following a change of stables during the break. Stepping out for a lone start back in September in a 2YO event, she found the front and controlled it in front in claiming a narrow victory over DANCE IN THE SUN. With a tidy pipe opener at the trials, she can challenge fresh. CROWN MOJO (10) sat in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line here 3 starts back and using the passing lane was within a half-head of the winner. Hitting the line strongly for the bronze last start, he can be chiming in. SHEZ ALL STYLE (8) was not suited last start in the Trot Rods from a wide gate when she could not get hot from the get-go. After 3 runs since arriving in Qld, she held on for 2nd in the Trot Rods behind the Series winner ADAM CROCKER and then was strong in the closing stages over the mile last start. With the right tempo, she can make a closing challenge. CALL ME KEITH (12) found his race here 3 starts back when taking control from the front and taking the all the way in a smart mile. Making a mess of the start at his next run, he was game in defeat last start when sent to the breeze. He is in the mix again. Gunned down in open company at Redcliffe at his next start he had to hang tough in the breeze last start over the mile. Despite the 2nd line he can challenge. RUN BOY RUN (11) started from gate 9 last week in the mile event when he could have been much closer with a smoother passage. Finishing over the top at the trip 2 starts back, he can feature again. OAXACAN DREAM (2) will take great benefit from her return from a spell here last start when tackling the mile.
