RACE TWO
NICKS PICK (2) faced some early bother before moving around to sit parked and was fighting hard when 6m in arrears of the winner. His run in the Redcliffe Sales 3YO Final the start prior was full of merit after being forced to retreat before working home strongly. This looks an ideal target. SWEET APPEAL (1) had a shot at the Redcliffe Oaks last start when easing from gate 4 to look for position. Finding the pegs and hoping for some luck, it did not arrive, and she could have been closer with more space. Placed in 3 of her previous 4 starts, she has the options to make a challenge. SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (6) started from the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start and with the perfect run over the closing stages arrived to claim a smart win. The gate is a stinger here, but he is in the fight. OUR ULTIMATE HANNA (9) pounced on the poles last start from gate 3 and lighting the lamps, took them all the way. With the right early trail, she can be featuring again here. SELECTIONS: NICKS PICK (2), SWEET APPEAL (1), SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (6), OUR ULTIMATE HANNA (9) SUGGESTED BET: NICKS PICK (2) to win
RACE THREE One of the plethora of NSW horses currently campaigning in the Sunshine State, OUR ACTION MAN (10) was making his 1st appearance here last week when stuck wide searching for position and forced to retreat. Attacking the line strongly in the closing stages behind UNCLE SHANK, he can get the holiday fund underway here. TRUE STEPPER (4) was forced to do it the tough way over the Redcliffe sprint 2 starts back and faded to a midfield finish when 9m from the winner. Buried in the run after angling to the pegs last start, she can get forward here and settling handy to the action gets a chance to challenge. ROCKINDOWNUNDER (3) started from wide on the track at Redcliffe last start when eased early to find the pegs and hope for some luck and shortcuts. Charging late to be within a head of the winner, she can chime in again. ONLYSBEST (8) did some early work before receiving cover in the Redcliffe Sales 3YO Final last start but could not go with them as SHES MISS DEVINE powered home. He will be probing for openings here. SELECTIONS: OUR ACTION MAN (10), TRUE STEPPER (4), ROCKINDOWNUNDER (3), ONLYSBEST (8) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (8) started from gate 10 last time out and was making up a stack of ground over the closing stages to get within a neck of the winner. A pleasing effort despite a wide gate and an electric mile set from the front the start prior, he comes up with the 2nd line options and finds a race where the early tempo looks hectic. KEAYANG MARVEN (4) should appreciate this level after tackling some stronger line-ups since arriving in Qld. He did all the heavy lifting last start in a qualifier as CRUNCH TIME was carving out a sizzling 1.54.3 over the Redcliffe 1780m which sits in the top-5 all-time fastest miles at The Triangle. Bumping into SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS the start prior, he can throw it down. MAJOR LESTER (1) has hit the board in all 4 starts here at The Creek and lines up here looking to make it a hat-trick of victories. Taking them all the way last time, he will be fighting hard here. LOVE YOUR WORK (3) clashed into a relative handy one last start in the shape of KRUG in the Redcliffe Derby. Forced to work hard the start prior behind WATTS UP SUNSHINE, he has claims in this line-up. SELECTIONS: ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (8), KEAYANG MARVEN (4), MAJOR LESTER (1), LOVE YOUR WORK (3) SUGGESTED BET: ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (8) to win
RACE FIVE HOT N GOLD (8) has been given a freshen since her last appearance and has hit the board in both starts since arriving in Qld. Sent to the post as the fav last start, she was required to work hard after pressing forward to the death seat from gate 6. Her 1st up effort was smart and if the factors are in her favour, she can arrive. LEITHEN BURN (6) is a 3YO gelding arriving from the Shaky Isles to join the stable of Kelli Dawson. Arriving with a smart record that shows a pair of wins and 4 minors in his 9 career starts, he has been given two nice pipe opening trials to prepare. The gate is not ideal, but he looks to have the class to throw it down. RUNFORTHEROSES (1) has the early hustle to hold them out here and last start she attempted an all the way effort but could not see it out. If able to pinch a panel or two, she can be in the mix. FEARLESS FAITH (2) has faced some tough gates at her past few starts, the latest when trailing the field in as MAJOR LESTER controlled it from the front. An improved alley is a bonus for this battle. SELECTIONS: HOT N GOLD (8), LEITHEN BURN (6), RUNFORTHEROSES (1), FEARLESS FAITH (2) SUGGESTED BET: HOT N GOLD (8) to win
RACE SIX A 2YO taking on the older horses RACY ROXY (1) was last seen in the Breeders Classic when sent forward from the wide gate and forced to work hard in the run. Grinding it out, she was best of the chasers in holding 2nd behind the star CAT KING COLE. With the options, she is up to the task. HAPPY PUBLICANS (8) was making his first appearance for Vicki Rasmussen last time out when content to stay out of an early speed from gate 3. Settling in the 1x1 trail, he made a strong closing rally to get within a neck of the winner. He will need a slice of luck but can challenge if the gaps open. ATOMIC BOMBSHELL (6) was given her cues out of the mobile last start from this gate to find the front and once in control fought them off in a 5m victory. A repeat effort is achievable. ESTARDAY (9) started from gate 1 last time out and was soon buried in the run after being sent to the post as fav. Finding space to be 5m away in grabbing the bronze, she can be joining in here. SELECTIONS: RACY ROXY (1), HAPPY PUBLICANS (8), ATOMIC BOMBSHELL (6), ESTARDAY (9) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-6-8-9
RACE SEVEN SKIPPYS DELIGHT (9) is the latest arrival for the visiting Jarrod Alchin stable and arrives with a last start midfield finish over the Menangle mile where he could have finished closer with a clearer passage. He can settle handy from this alley and make a strong start to the trip. EVA MATEO (2) tackled the Redcliffe Oaks last start and from the 2nd line was wide off the track when making a sustained run to make a closing play. Finishing 7m from the winner SHES MISS DEVINE to grab 3rd, she is a talented filly and from the improved gate can challenge. BETA JEWEL (1) also went around in the Redcliffe Oaks last week when trying to make some closing ground in finishing 4th. 3m from MAJOR LESTER here 2 starts back, she could be in danger of being buried. UNCLE LUKEY (7) has been jammed up again with another tough gate. He was up against it last start from this gate as UNCLE SHANK was rolling in front and the start prior was much tougher. He can still be factor in this field despite the alley. SELECTIONS: SKIPPYS DELIGHT (9), EVA MATEO (2), BETA JEWEL (1), UNCLE LUKEY (7) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT A tricky contest to iron out here where there are no real speedsters off the front line which could just entice a few runners to make an early play. Despite the wide gate IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (7) might have found the right conditions to land his 3rd win here at The Creek. Hitting the line nicely 2 starts back behind THE ROCKNROLL KING, he can sneak away with the prize. BLISSFULDAY (1) does have some early hustle but will need to be stoked up if they want to do it from the front end. Repelled early from gate 3 at Redcliffe last start, he was forced to cut the breeze and was a game 2nd. This is a trifle harder than his past 2 but the improved gate is a big plus. WHICH HUNT (6) was asked to roll the sleeves last start from gate 4 and even after working hard in the run was still within 4m of the winner. That was the Final following a strong heat win and she is right in the fight here. MONTEREY JACK (3) was buried away last start when looking to find space and make a play when down the line behind ROYAL OBSESSION. He struck a tough qualifier the start prior and back to this is in the mix. SELECTIONS: IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (7), BLISSFULDAY (1), WHICH HUNT (6), MONTEREY JACK (3) SUGGESTED BET: IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (7) to win
RACE NINE
IMA CALVERT ROSE (3) came from the 40m tape here last week when settling in the running line and finishing midfield to MAJESTIC SPEED. A winner from 30m the start prior, she loves the mobile conditions where 5 of her 6 wins have been recorded and this looks the right target. JUST CALL ME MOLLY (8) is another that appreciates the mobile start conditions and comes up with 2nd line options here as the only runner off the 2nd line. From the 40m here last week, she was making a closing dive at MAJESTIC SPEED when coming up 2m short. This is right within reach. MAJESTIC SPEED (7) started from 20m last time out and content to grind it out when sitting parked proved too strong in claiming career win number 2. Improving at each outing, she can feature. THE NIGHT KING (4) was safely into stride and continued to press forward from the 30m 2 starts back at Redcliffe. Finding the front, he held them off thereafter. This is slightly easier than last start and he is in the mix. SELECTIONS: IMA CALVERT ROSE (3), JUST CALL ME MOLLY (8), MAJESTIC SPEED (7), THE NIGHT KING (4) SUGGESTED BET: IMA CALVERT ROSE (3) to win
