RACE TWO
This big query for these combatants is the exposed form at 13 furlongs with half the field winless at the trip. Manners have cost ALADDIN SANE (11) as many races on this track as he has won here and ended his chances in the Qld Cup 2 starts back. 3 back he was faultless in scoring a smart win and with confidence from another top showing on Friday when strong late, he can prevail once again. AVEROSS DON (3) pounced on the early lead from the 10m impost here 2 starts back and in front was trying to pinch a margin but could not hold on as PUMA ROAD descended to take the prize. Locked away from the 20m last week, back to the 10m is a plus and if he can get forward early can challenge. DOWN UNDER RORS (5) is another on the backup from Friday night where he ran his usual honest race after stepping cleanly before releasing the speed. Only beaten a head behind THE REAPER last Tuesday, he was runner-up here 4 back and has claims. THE REAPER (6) has placed in 4 of 12 at the trip without landing a win but he has been hitting some nice areas in recent outings. Closing out over the top to arrive last start, he can be in the mix. SELECTIONS: ALADDIN SANE (11), AVEROSS DON (3), DOWN UNDER RORS (5), THE REAPER (6) SUGGESTED BET: ALADDIN SANE (11) to win
RACE THREE MARVELLA (3) is an American Ideal gelding out of the Christian Cullen mare Cullpepper on debut for NSW visitor Scott Hewitt. Trialling in a mixed trial on this track, he charged home from back in the pack in an eye-catching manner. He gives away experience to his rivals but looks up to the task. MISTER CAUTIOUS (6) rolled forward from gate 5 to sit parked in the Triad Consolation last start and applying no pressure to the leader made a closing play in the stretch to get within a half-neck of the prize. Runner-up his past 3 in succession, he can get forward again and look to throw it down. BEACH MAGIC (4) has placed in 3 of his 4 career starts and last start although 4th was within 1.5m of the winner in a blanket finish. Runner-up to FUTURE ASSURED 2 starts back, he is right in the fight. SHEZA CHANCE (2) tackled the Fillies Triad Consolation here last week when snagged back early from a wide gate. Making good metres in the latter stages, from the inside alley she is in the mix. SELECTIONS: MARVELLA (3), MISTER CAUTIOUS (6), BEACH MAGIC (4), SHEZA CHANCE (2) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR This race profiles as a clash to see if a 2YO can defeat a 3YO with the main two players tackling this mixed bag event. HAPPY PUBLICANS (5) is the 3YO and while he may need to graft this one out, he is strong enough to do so. Too gritty last start when parked when forging clear to score in smart order, he can go back-to-back. FUTURE ASSURED (3) is the speedy 2YO tackling the older horses and comes into this off the back of his last start Triad performance when fading in the closing stages after lighting the lamps. Finishing 6m in arrears of the winner AWAYWEGO, he looks the leerie again here and will be trying to put the gas in the last lamp. WOODLANDS WONDER (1) has been thereabouts in recent outings, having placed in 3 of his past 4 starts, the latest when only a neck away from the winner. With an economical trip he can feature. SHEZ GOT BLING (8) has been racing in consistent fashion in recent outings with a top-3 at her past 9 in succession. 2m in arrears last start, this is tougher, but the cosy trip is a big plus. SELECTIONS: HAPPY PUBLICANS (5), FUTURE ASSURED (3), WOODLANDS WONDER (1), SHEZ GOT BLING (8) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-5-8
RACE FIVE HEMSWORTH (7) was steady in the early stages off the arm before being given his cues soon after release and rifling across to take control. Keeping the power on up front, he cashed-in to claim his first win since crossing the ditch. This race looks to pan out in a similar manner. Rinse and repeat. A WHOLE LATTA ROSIE (4) was stepping out in Qld for the first time here last week when crossing to the pegs first but then unable to repel the power out wide from HEMSWORTH. Holding on for the bronze, she will strip fitter for the outing and in a similar position in transit can be ready to offer. THIS ONES FOR YOU (3) has placed at her past 2 starts, the latest when setting the tempo and trying to fight them off before being gunned down in the stretch. Settling handy can see her chime in. LADY AVANA (2) tackled the Qld Oaks last start when striking trouble that ended her chances. Trying to set the speed in the Redcliffe Oaks before fading under a strong tempo, a return to this level is a plus. SELECTIONS: HEMSWORTH (7), A WHOLE LATTA ROSIE (4), THI ONES FOR YOU (3), LADY AVANA (2) SUGGESTED BET: HEMSWORTH (7) to win
RACE SIX FRONTLINER (6) faces a tough gate here, but he is a classy 3YO that will strip fitter following his return from a spell here last week. A winner over the 2138m heading into the Triad Final, he compounded in that event after working in the early stages. Snagged back from gate 7 last week, he was a long way back before hitting the line in nice style over the closing stages. LUVHAVINFUN (10) had factors in her favour here last week over this trip from this same gate, with solid tempo in the early stages. With the right cart into the contest, she had the fresh legs to arrive with 4m to spare. Making an error the start prior, she can challenge once again with tempo and a cart into the contest. RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1) eased from gate 5 last week over this trip and was then making the move wide off the track when following the leader into the contest to grab 2nd. The gate gives him options here. ALWAYS BOPPING (3) was first up in Qld last start when showing early hustle from gate 1 to settle in the trail before finishing in the second half of the pack behind YEP GOT CHOOKS. Limiting the early burn can see him in the mix. SELECTIONS: FRONTLINER (6), LUVHAVINFUN (10), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1), ALWAYS BOPPING (3) SUGGESTED BET: FRONTLINER (6) to win
RACE SEVEN MAJOR FERNCO (9) was left exposed once the field found their order last start, but with the lead pair cutting each other with a 26.5 opening panel, was content to move up to them. In for the fight in the stretch, he was too strong in scoring a smart win. Building to that after successive placings, he can land handy and make a closing play. MOHS EM DOWN (6) started from the 2nd line last start and when trying to make a run could not fully go with them before being shunted four-wide on the track. Chasing hard behind subsequent winner LIFE LAVROS, the gate makes it tough, but he can look to make a challenge in this line up. VIRGIL (8) looms large here if he can get to the passing lane with momentum. Buried in the run here 2 starts back when within 3m of ADAM CROCKER, the tempo was against him last start in the JC McMullen. He will be probing for open road. SPEED DIAL (2) held the pocket trail last start but could not go on with it as LIFE LAVROS put them to the sword. Runner-up her previous 2 in succession, she is a podium chance from this alley. SELECTIONS: MAJOR FERNCO (9), MOHS EM DOWN (6), VIRGIL (8), SPEED DIAL (2) SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR FERNCO (9) to win
RACE EIGHT STREET APPEAL (7) may not have the numbers next to his name but there have certainly been excuses and he has not been too far away. Not suited off the 2nd line he was strong to the line last start behind THE ANNOUNCER and the start prior was within 5m of the winner after the leading rights came with a 26.1 price tag from gate 6. He can bounce back hard in this. BLUE MOON RISING (8) is on the back-up from Saturday night where he was closing strongly to finish midfield and lands the perfect alley for his pattern here. At his best when saved for a closing shot after sitting quiet in the run, he should be tucked away and with a genuine tempo expected will be probing for the openings. FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (1) was sent forward from gate 7 to sit parked here 2 runs back and was game in defeat when only a head shy of the winner LAMANDIER. Again, tough when 3rd last start, he has the early speed to avail the options. MISTERY ROAD (4) was sent forward from this same gate last start and asked to roll the sleeves was in for the grind when runner-up to SLINGSHOT. With a smart record here at The Creek, he can be in the mix. SELECTIONS: STREET APPEAL (7), BLUE MOON RISING (8), FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (1), MISTERY ROAD (4) SUGGESTED BET: STREET APPEAL (7) to win
RACE NINE BOMBADIER JUJON (4) should appreciate a return to the Tuesday afternoon timeslot after being seen on Saturday night primetime at his past 3 starts. With a smoother passage he could have been closer than the 7m behind TOMMY LINCOLN last start, while 2 back he was buried when his run had merit behind SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS. This looks ideal. ROYAL AURORA (5) has hit the board at his past 4 on the bounce, the latest when sent to the post as fav from inside the 2nd line. Buried away 3 back against the poles, he made a closing play to get within 1.5m of the winner. The gate is a little sticky but with even luck he can be making a challenge. VINNY CHASE (6) started from inside the 2nd line here last week and was soon angled away from the poles into the running line. With a solid clip through the opening half, he descended late for a smart win. Not too far away on Friday, he can feature here. MONTANA CHIEF (3) is never far from the action and can be guaranteed to be hitting the line hard in the latter stages. His chances depend on how far back he positions. Only beaten an eyelash 3 starts back, he attacked the line hard on Saturday for the silver and he will be swooping hard in this. SELECTIONS: BOMBADIER JUJON (4), ROYAL AURORA (5), VINNY CHASE (6) MONTANA CHIEF (3) SUGGESTED BET: BOMBADIER JUJON (4) to win
