RACE TWO
KING OF KAOS (1) broke through to claim his first victory here 2 starts back when angled away from the pegs early after starting from inside the 2nd line. Buried away last start in a much stronger contest when down the line behind IAMAJOYRIDE, the return to this grade from this gate is ideal. SPECIAL MEANING (4) was beaten by the 2nd line last start when forced to settle in a rearward position over the 2138m as the smart 2YO MY ULTIMATE BAXTER claimed the prize. Runner-up in a gritty performance 2 starts back, he can make a challenge in this grade from this alley. KALANI (5) discarded the maiden tag here 2 starts back when pressing forward to take control and then lead throughout. The gate is a stinger here but with even luck he is in the mix. ROCK SUPREME (3) was put into the battle in the early stages last time out when sent forward from the 2nd line to sit parked. Chasing gamely for the silver behind YANKEE DANCER, he is a podium chance here. SELECTIONS: KING OF KAOS (1), SPECIAL MEANING (4), KALANI (5), ROCK SUPREME (3) SUGGESTED BET: KING OF KAOS (1) to win
RACE THREE OCTOBER RACKETEER (2) started from gate 5 over the AP mile last start when easing in the early stages before landing in the 1x trail. With a slow middle 800m, the race developed into a turn and burn, and he was strong to be just 4m from the winner. Racing well without much going his way, he has the gate to capitalise here. WHATTA GOOD REASON (8) should appreciate a return to Redcliffe after tackling some strong opponents at headquarters in recent outings. Buried as HEMSWORTH carved it out in front last start, he could not see it out over the 2138m the start prior. With the right trail he can challenge here. IAMAJOYRIDE (6) made the most of an improved gate last time out when firing off the arm to take control and once in front took them all the way at The Creek. The gate hurts at her first look here at The Triangle but she has the class to overcome the alley. JAZIAH (7) pressed ahead to find the front from gate 2 last start and was fighting hard to the wire when nabbed in the last stride by FLO RYDA. With an economical trip, she will be probing for gaps. SELECTIONS: OCTOBER RACKETEER (2), WHATTA GOOD REASON (8), IAMAJOYRIDE (6), JAZIAH (7) SUGGESTED BET: OCTOBER RACKETEER (2) to win
RACE FOUR CINDAROCKINRELLA (2) was having her 3rd start in Qld here last time out from this same gate when pressing forward to take control in the early stages. Once in front, she was never headed and cruised home to claim victory by 8m. Luckless the start prior, she can again make her own luck here to dictate. ARMA VEYRON (5) joins the stables of Narissa McMullen and arrives with a last start 2nd at Swan Hill when gunned down as a short-priced favourite. Finishing 5m in arrears of the winner the start prior at Mildura, she faces a sticky gate first up here but can make her presence felt in this grade. MAGHERA MAGGIE (1) was beaten by a wide gate last start when retreating in the early stages to secure position and was then too far back in the pack to make an impression. The improved gate helps. WHATA REACTOR (8) was sent around the field in the early stages from the 2nd line last time out and was content to sit parked when fighting on for the silver. Pressing through early she can feature. SELECTIONS: CINDAROCKINRELLA (2), ARMA VEYRON (5), MAGHERA MAGGIE (1), WHATA REACTOR (8) SUGGESTED BET: CINDAROCKINRELLA (2) to win
RACE FIVE WOODLANDS WONDER (9) will be requiring a slice of luck from this alley but should appreciate the drop in grade he receives to get into this. Only beaten a neck 2 starts back after sitting parked and working hard in the run, he was hampered at a vital moment in the trail last start when the leader hoisted the white flag. This looks well within reach. AURORA ROSE (1) was a Marburg winner 2 starts back after securing the right trip from the 2nd line and then finishing over the top to claim the prize. Unable to warm up last start, she will secure the perfect trip I behind the speed to make a closing challenge here. ILLBEWATCHING (7) has been racing in consistent touch in this grade, hitting the board in 8 of his past 10 starts with 4 of those being victories. Powering home over the top last start, he will be probing for the openings. MAJOR LUCKY (8) was first up for the new stable last start when pressing forward to take control from gate 3. Trying to fight them off, he could not see it out. He can chime in here. SELECTIONS: WOODLANDS WONDER (9), AURORA ROSE (1), ILLBEWATCHING (7), MAJOR LUCKY (8) SUGGESTED BET: WOODLANDS WONDER (9) to win
RACE SIX MISS VICTORIA (1) has placed in 2 of her 4 starts here at The Triangle and last start was hemmed away after starting from inside the 2nd line. Doing some early work before a midfield finish the start prior behind DELIGHTFUL REASON, she lands the gate to burrow through and from the front can cash-in. CHANCELESS CENTURY (9) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when midfield with an 8m margin to the winner KING OF TRUMPS. Sent forward from this same gate 2 starts back to cut the breeze, he was fighting hard to get within a neck of the winner and can make a challenge again. DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (7) grabbed the silver from the stand at Marburg 2 starts back and then made the most of gate 1 last time to take them all the way for a tidy victory. With the cosy trip she will be probing. DONNY JONES (4) charged home from the 2nd line to grab the bronze here 3 starts back and at his next outing was buried in the run. Down the line in a tougher battle last start, he can chime in here. SELECTIONS: MISS VICTORIA (1), CHANCELESS CENTURY (9), DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (7), DONNY JONES (4) SUGGESTED BET: MISS VICTORIA (1) to win
RACE SEVEN Returning from a spell in top order that includes a last start victory over the AP mile, MAC SWEENEY (4) will be tightened and finds the right contest to look for further success. Sent straight to the front last start from the three-hole, he was never bothered in claiming an easy victory. With added fitness he can go back-to-back. MOLLIESMARYELLE (7) makes her first Qld appearance for Bern Hewitt and has been kept fresh since her last outing back in June. Eased from a wide gate to find the pegs and look for luck on that occasion, she can secure the cosy trip in behind the speed here and be searching for gaps to challenge. FRANCO NANDOR (3) was sent straight to the front from gate 4 last start and once in control was able to hold on for a narrow victory. Gunned down the start prior, he can get forward to feature here. MISTER COLE (5) will take some benefit from his latest outing when returning from a freshen. Snagged back from gate 7, it was a sound effort as the temp was controlled in front. The gate stings but this is within reach. SELECTIONS: MAC SWEENEY (4), MOLLIESMARYELLE (7), FRANCO NANDOR (3), MISTER COLE (5) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT THE GENERAL (1) should appreciate this drop in grade from what he has met in 3 Qld starts to date and comes up with the ace gate as an added sweetener. Looking to take them all the way last start over the AP mile; he could not see it out when finishing 6m astern. From the gate he lands every opportunity to open his Qld account. PEBBLE SANDS (7) has shown early hustle at his past few starts as a tight gate has given him the opportunity to look to capitalise from a prominent position. Released in a strong race last start before finishing midfield to the flying BITCOIN, he was gunned down in front 2 start back. Doing the chasing here might suit. ALWAYS BOPPING (9) should find this a shade softer than what he has been facing as he takes his first look at the Peninsula. Setting the speed when overpowered as CAPTAIN NEMO scored last start, he can make a play in this. MONTEREY JACK (5) has another tough gate to overcome here but has been able to negate the draw in 2 of his past 3 starts to claim the cash. Charging home last start to arrive, he can chime in here. SELECTIONS: THE GENERAL (1), PEBBLE SANDS (7), ALWAYS BOPPING (9), MONTEREY JACK (5) SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1 / 5-7-9
RACE NINE
OUR LITTLE DIGGER (2) is never far from the action and last start from gate 9 angled to the pegs to go look for the passing lane. Taking his shot in the stretch, he was a flared nostril from the prize. Luckless the start prior when shuffled out of it before charging home, he can be ready to strike here. COLONEL JOY (3) set the speed here 3 starts back over this trip from gate 1 before being rounded up in the stretch by OUR LITTLE DIGGER who had the sit on him throughout. Fighting hard from the front last start over the AP mile when gripping on for 3rd, he can be making a play for the prize here. GODDESS JUJON (1) held on for the bronze here 3 starts back over this trip after easing to find the pegs with the fence providing the first 3 over the line. From this gate she can feature again in this. SAVING MAJOR PERCY (5) dis not have to go around a runner last week when resuming from a spell. Sticking to the poles, he kept giving to arrive for a narrow victory. The wider gate makes it tougher, but he will strip fitter. SELECTIONS: OUR LITTLE DIGGER (2), COLONEL JOY (3), GODDESS JUJON (1), SAVING MAJOR PERCY (5) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE TEN
Visiting trainer Col Godden is having good success in the Sunshine State and has a new arrival to join his barn. TRACER BULLET (1) was last seen at Mildura when powering over the top of them in the closing stages. That followed a smart Shepparton win and from the ace gate can complete the threepeat first up. CAPTAIN THUNDERBOLT (3) eased from this gate to secure position last start and saved for the last shot had the bullets to fire, sweeping down the outside to pinch the loot. It had not gone to plan at his previous 2 starts and if securing position cheaply, he can land another heist here. KWASII (7) is generally better suited to being out in front but from this alley looks set to enjoy the cosy trip in behind the action. Taking them all the way here 3 starts back, he will be probing. SCHEU CREEK (6) has no favours from the wide gate, but he was able to overcome the extreme outside to score last start at Marburg. His run here the start prior was a big after having no luck and he is right in the mix. SELECTIONS: TRACER BULLET (1), CAPTAIN THUNDERBOLT (3), KWASII (7), SCHEU CREEK (6) SUGGESTED BET: TRACER BULLET (1) to win
