RACE TWO
IMA BIRUBI BOY (1) started at big odds last time out when asked to sit parked over the AP mile. With a solid tempo set, he could not finish it off when wilting over the closing stages. Most of his recent racing has been at The Creek and a return to The Triangle from this alley looks ideal. KATACHA MAN (9) started from the 2nd line last start when not finding the smoothest run as BONDI SHAKE controlled the speed from the front to score. He made an error 2 starts back and while his numbers are not overly inspiring, this is the type of race he can turn it around. MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (8) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon hemmed away and looking for the openings when 3m from the winner. With the right early trail, he can feature. CALL ME TRISH (2) started from the ace last start and with an easy trip against the poles finished midfield behind MAJORCA. Settling handy to the action can see her in the mix. SELECTIONS: IMA BIRUBI BOY (1), KATACHA MAN (9), MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (8), CALL ME TRISH (2) SUGGESTED BET: IMA BIRUBI BOY (1) to win
RACE THREE This looks a tricky little contest with some winning form on offer and the early map likely to play a big factor. MONTANA FLASH (8) was resuming from a spell last start and with the cosy trip in the pocket trail had the bullets to hit the target up the passing lane. Fitter for that run, he can go back-to-back. YANKEE DANCER (4) capitalised here last start when pouncing on the poles from gate 1 and cruising home to a comfortable 13m victory. The start prior at headquarters she was trying to fight them off but was gone on the home turn when fading up the stretch. If she can find the front easily, she looms large. PRINCE JOY (1) took them all the way last time when sent forward from gate 3 when scoring an easy win to overturn a long winless streak. He has all the options from this gate to feature. KARAOKE ROCK (7) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when locked against the poles over the AP mile and chasing hard behind HAPPY PUBLICANS. He will be probing again here. SELECTIONS: MONTANA FLASH (8), YANKEE DANCER (4), PRINCE JOY (1), KARAOKE ROCK (7) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR ITSMEGS (4) was a Marburg winner 5 starts back when attacking the line with good power over the concluding stages to take the prize. Not much has really worked out in the 4 starts since that win, the latest offering when not too far from ALTANA BLUE. This looks the right race to bounce back. REGALIA (1) resumed from a spell the best way possible when finishing over the top of them to claim a 4m victory after starting from the 2nd line. Beaten by gate 6 at his next start when giving away too much ground after retreating, he can secure the easy trip to challenge here. WHATA CHALLENGE (7) secured the perfect trip and then the perfect opening at Marburg 2 starts back to claim the prize. Closing strongly last start wide out, he will be probing for gaps here. MISTER DECORUM (3) was sent around them from gate 9 last start to get outside the leader but could not go on with it and faded back through the pack. The improved gate is a big plus. SELECTIONS: ITSMEGS (4), REGALIA (1), WHATA CHALLENGE (7), MISTER DECORUM (3) SUGGESTED BET: ITSMEGS (4) to win
RACE FIVE MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (5) started from this same gate last time and was making some nice metre over the closing stages to be 5m from the winner ALTANA BLUE. Placed in 3 of his past 5 starts, he was making goo ground here 2 starts back for the bronze. The wide gate stings but this looks his chance to break the drought. BETTOR WATCH HIM (8) fired off the arm last start looking to take them all the way over this trip. After a steady opening half, he was unable to finish them off when grabbed up the passing lane and fading into 4th. Pressing through to secure position can see him make a challenge. PIN CODE (6) will take further benefit from her latest outing when 2nd up from a spell. Taken back and then too far off them when resuming, she closed in nice order last start and can chime in again. SWEET SANGRIA (7) returns from a spell and lands the perfect alley first up without a trial. With the cosy run in behind the speed, she can make a closing play to look for a podium result. SELECTIONS: MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (5), BETTOR WATCH HIM (8), PIN CODE (6), SWEET SANGRIA (7) SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (5) to win
RACE SIX BEEF CITY STARZZZ (1) secured the 1x1 trail last start over this trip but with a slow opening half could not go with them in the closing stages. Runner-up here 2 starts back when finishing in nice order from the 2nd line, he comes up with the options here to capitalise. ALWAYS AT NIGHT (3) was returning from a spell here last time out when taking the trail from gate 1. With the easy run in behind the speed, he took the closing shot up the passing lane to just miss when a head in arrears of the winner. Fitter for that run, he can settle close to the action to challenge. COUNTRY RUN (9) could not go with them last start at Marburg when the power went on. Gunned down in front by subsequent winner NON PASSARE here 2 starts back, he has rough place claims. ITS ALL TORQUE (4) turned back the clock here last start to overturn a 3-year winless drought. Sliding forward to find a position from gate 5, he was able to arrive over the top. The confidence of the win can see him feature again. SELECTIONS: BEEF CITY STARZZZ (1), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (3), COUNTRY RUN (9), ITS ALL TORQUE (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN TEACHERS PET (7) will be requiring some factors in her favour and sweating on the 1 holding them wide. If that scenario can eventuate as expected, she comes right into calculations. 2 starts back she struck trouble in the run and them last start was undone by gate 6. This will be start 50 for her on The Triangle and can be celebrated in style. A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (1) will need to hustle early here but if he is able to burrow through to protect the poles, his chances should expand exponentially. Shuffled away from inside the 2nd line lasts start, his past 5 have been from the 2nd line and this looks the ideal opportunity to turn it around. FASTNFLASHY (5) eased from this gate last start and from a rearward position was trying to launch a closing raid when grabbing the silver behind LIVING FREE. The wide gate stings again but she can find the podium again in this line up. PRIVATE JUJON (8) eased to secure position from gate 4 last start and was making some closing metres when 5m in arrears of the winner. With the option to stay running line or drop to the pegs in the early stages, he can place again. SELECTIONS: TEACHERS PET (7), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (1), FASTNFLASHY (5), PRIVATE JUJON (8) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-7-8
RACE EIGHT HARRY CROFT (3) started from the five-hole last time out and was wide the last lap when trying to work into the contest. Unable to go on with it, it had followed a run when buried away from inside the 2nd line. Stepping out for Lachie Manzelmann for the first time, he can capitalise from this alley. TULHURST LOVER (6) broke through for her first victory in Qld here last week when settling in the 1x1 trail from gate 2. With the power to swoop over the top of them, she cruised home to claim a smart win which had followed a 3rd at The Creek. The gate hurts but she can challenge. ROCK IN HEAVEN (1) started from gate 9 last time out and was trying to chime in late when grabbing the bronze when 6m in arrears of the winner. Not suited when required to sit parked the start prior, the gate is a big plus. MAGHERA MAGGIE (7) was hemmed away from gate 3 last start and had her chances ended when the leader could maintain the momentum. She will be probing for gaps again here. SELECTIONS: HARRY CROFT (3), TULHURST LOVER (6), ROCK IN HEAVEN (1), MAGHERA MAGGIE (7) SUGGESTED BET: HARRY CROFT (3) to win
