RACE TWO
LITTLEDEE (8) was sent to the post in red figures last start over the AP mile where she was rolling forward from the four-hole before finding cover in the run. With a steady tempo she was unable to go with them late. A winner 3 starts back when wide off the track, she can do the work to arrive in this. DALLAS COWGIRL (3) has been on a win drought that dates back just on two years with that win coming when scoring here from the 2nd line. Doing some early work before receiving cover last start, she was unable to go with them late. Too far back the start prior, she can be closer to the action in this. JOHNROD (2) is looking to overturn a long stretch since landing the only win of his career and has been thereabouts since arriving in Qld. Settling close to the action will aid his chances in this. ALWAYS AT NIGHT (7) has placed in 3 of his 4 starts since resuming from a spell, the latest when trying to launch a closing raid and finishing 2m in arrears of the winner. He is a podium hope. SELECTIONS: LITTLEDEE (8), DALLAS COWGIRL (3), JOHNROD (2), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (7) SUGGESTED BET: LITTLEDEE (8) to win
RACE THREE DOWNTOWN LUCCA (8) is still winless here at Marburg but might just have found the race to overturn that statistic. Making some ground form deep in the pack last start behind the in-form COBBITY CASTLE, he was a close 2nd 3 starts back. He may need to work in the middle stages here but finds a winnable contest. SIR HASZEM (3) is still a maiden tackling some experienced performers here but can bring early speed to this battle. Not suited when retreating from a wide gate at Redcliffe last start, he was only gunned down late in front 5 runs back. If first to the pegs, he will give plenty of cheek in front. COUNTRY RUN (7) is yet to land a win in 8 attempts here at this track but has placed on 3 occasions. Also placed his past 3 in succession from tough gates, with an even slice of luck he is in the mix here. CHANG (1) should enjoy an easy trip in behind the speed and will be looking for the gaps over the closing stages. Not suited last start when working in the run, he can be chiming in here. SELECTIONS: DOWNTOWN LUCCA (8), SIR HASZEM (3), COUNTRY RUN (7), CHANG (1) SUGGESTED BET: DOWNTOWN LUCCA (8) to win
RACE FOUR At his best when out in front and lighting the lamps, RISKY BUZINESS (1) was only beaten a half-head last start when chasing from the 1x1 trail. Not suited the start prior when forced to sit parked, he lands the ideal gate here and from the front can bring up career start 200 in fine style. FAIREACHDAINN (2) was chasing gamely over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 starts back when grabbing the silver behind CAPTAIN THUNDERBOLT. Pressing through from the 2nd line to sit parked last start, she was grinding it out when within 5m of the winner. From the gate she can throw it down. ZED EXPRESS (6) fired off the arm last start and was trying to take them all the way but could not maintain the tempo when fading down the line. With the easy trip in behind the action, he will be probing for openings. WHERES TASCOTT (7) rolled forward early before finding cover last start as MAJOR SLIP UP took the prize. Claiming 3rd in a strong AP mile event the start prior, she can be making a closing play in this. SELECTIONS: RISKY BUZINESS (1), FAIREACHDAINN (2), ZED EXPRESS (6), WHERES TASCOTT (7) SUGGESTED BET: RISKY BUZINESS (1) to win
RACE FIVE FORGIVE ME (3) eased from gate 5 last start and was soon too far back and unable to warm up in the closing stages. Eased from a wide gate over the Redcliffe sprint trip the start prior, she was strong to the line when beaten an eyelash. With early hustle she can look for early control and from the front would take some stopping. HESLUVABLE (1) looks set to enjoy the cosy trip in behind the speed and will be hoping some space opens to get off the pegs and issue a challenge. Strong to the line 3 starts back when wide off the track over the Redcliffe 2040m trip, he will be probing. CANNAN (4) has a smart record here at Marburg where he has hit the board in 7 of his 10 appearances which includes 3 wins. Too far back last start but making some closing metres, he can make a play here. ROGER THAT (2) started from the 2nd line over the AP mile 2 starts back and was trying to make a closing challenge when 10m in arrears of the winner. Settling closer will helps his chances here. SELECTIONS: FORGIVE ME (3), HESLUVABLE (1), CANNAN (4), ROGER THAT (2) SUGGESTED BET: FORGIVE ME (3) to win
RACE SIX The first of two family challenge heats here where CLARENDEN DAZZLER (1) and Darrel Graham can strike the first blow for the Dads. Strong to the line last start over the AP mile after settling in the running line from gate 10, his effort 2 back from a wide gate had merit. With the early hustle, he can dictate. ROYAL PRINCESS (6) has hit the board at her past 3 starts in succession, the latest when wide off the track over the latter stages from a wide gate to grab the bronze when 5m from BETTOR MEMORIES. Closing hard the start prior when only a head from the winner, she can be waiting for open space to make a challenge. ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (7) was shuffled back from gate 1 over the Redcliffe 2040m trip 2 starts back and could not warm up when the speed went on. With the early peg option available, he is a podium chance. LA PISTOLA (4) started from the 2nd line last time out and was making some metres in the latter stages as LETS HUSTLE landed the prize. He can be looking to chime in late here. SELECTIONS: CLARENDEN DAZZLER (1), ROYAL PRINCESS (6), ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (7), LA PISTOLA (4) SUGGESTED BET: CLARENDEN DAZZLER (1) to win
RACE SEVEN NIGHT NINJA (1) has a great strike rate on this surface where in 19 starts he has been able to land 5 victories and place on a further 6 occasions. Eased off the gate last start at The Triangle before picking up some late ground when 7m away, the improved gate is a huge plus and he lands his chance to take them all the way. PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM (6) makes his 1st appearance in Qld for trainer Craig McKinnis, resuming from a lengthy spell after his last race start came back in August 2020. Given just the one preparatory trial, he lands the ideal alley here 1st up and with the cosy trip can look for a closing shot. SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (4) held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start at Redcliffe when using the passing lane to get within 2.5m of the winner IFOUNDTHEBEACH. Securing position cheaply will help his chances here. LORIMER LADY (3) found the 1x1 trail last start from gate 2 over the 1780m but could not go on with it as THEMIDNIGHTRAMBLER pulled away to score. With 1 win in 3 outings on this track, she is in the mix. SELECTIONS: NIGHT NINJA (1), PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM (6), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (4), LORIMER LADY (3) SUGGESTED BET: NIGHT NINJA (1) to win
RACE EIGHT The 2nd of the Family Challenge heats where PACIFIC COIN (2) can look to take full advantage of the gate. Backing up from Thursday at Redcliffe, he has yet to land victory here at Marburg but has managed to place in 3 of 5 attempts. Having never drawn this tight in those 5 appearances, he can show his early hustle to take control and be gripping on in the stretch. BEEF CITY STARZZZ (1) does have early speed and will be burrowing through looking to protect the poles. An all the way winner at Redcliffe 3 starts back when holding them out early, he was shuffled away from the ace over the AP mile at his next outing. He can be throwing it down here. BONNIES CAM (6) was obliged to do it the tough way last start when grafting away after sitting parked but then fading int eh closing stages. With the cosy trip he will be searching for openings in a race where the ‘kids’ look to hold the advantage over the Dads. MY ULTIMATE HESTON (7) set the tempo last start at Redcliffe but running even panels in front was unable to see it out. Following through, he can be chiming in. SELECTIONS: PACIFIC COIN (2), BEEF CITY STARZZZ (1), BONNIES CAM (6), MY ULTIMATE HESTON (7) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-6-7
