RACE TWO

Taking on the stronger mares’ races in recent outings, the conditions of this race are appealing for FOND MEMORIES (9). After successive wins, she then struck a white-hot KIWIS ARE FLYING before contesting the mares features in her past 2 starts when landing gate 7 each time. With some sizzling sectionals here 2 starts back, this looks ideal.

SQUARE DEALER (2) was chasing the gate here on Tuesday after being sketchy out of the circle from gate 6. Eased to the rear soon after release, he sat at the back and then had his momentum stalled when searching for the gaps. Gate 7 was his undoing the start prior and settling closer should help.

PACIFIC DRUMS (6) started from this gate in a heat of the Band 5 Series where he was resuming from a spell. Eased early before making some late ground, with the added fitness, he can feature.

ROLL WITH ROCKY (1) was sent forward from gate 5 last start and asked to do it the tough way when sitting parked. In for the fight in a gritty performance, the availing options appeal.

SELECTIONS: FOND MEMORIES (9), SQUARE DEALER (2), PACIFIC DRUMS (6), ROLL WITH ROCKY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FOND MEMORIES (9) to win

RACE THREE

In a race with similar conditions 4 starts back, THE IDEAL DANCER (1) as able to capitalise and charge home in the closing stages for a narrow victory. His next 2 starts were not as palatable and then here on Tuesday the effort from gate 7 was a sharper return. With all the benefits from the ace, he gets his chance to land just his 2nd AP victory.

GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (3) has been gunned down in front at his past 2 starts now in qualifiers, one at the mile and one at the middle distance. Trying to fight them off here last week, he could not repel the challenge of BALDUCCI, when 4m in arrears. Once again, he can throw down the challenge.

BEACHBOY BUTCH (2) had no luck last start when searching for position and soon found himself at the rear of the pack. Runner-up in successive starts at Redcliffe prior to that, he can feature here.

LA SAFRON (9) has been in super consistent form at Redcliffe in recent outings and will look to transfer that to the big oval. Finishing over the top to score last start following 5 successive placings, he can be chiming in again.

SELECTIONS: THE IDEAL DANCER (1), GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (3), BEACHBOY BUTCH (2), LA SAFRON (9)
SUGGESTED BET: THE IDEAL DANCER (1) to win

RACE FOUR

This week’s FFA looks slightly different following last week’s Qld Cup and after building through the past 3 starts, L L COOL J (7) can look to capitalise on the big gun’s omission here. Luckless from gate 13 in the Qld Cup, he was still picking off some late metres to finish midfield. Despite the extreme alley, he looks ready to strike.

SPEECH IS SILVER (5) had been delivering some electric closing sectionals in his races and owned 4 of the top 10 fastest last 800m splits through October. In the Qld Cup was sent to sit parked outside MACH DA VINCI where he was unable to cope with the trip. A return to his normal pattern can prove more fruitful for this assignment.

KANENA PROVLIMA (3) was luckless in the Be Good Johnny when weaving a passage to grab 2nd to MACH DA VINCI. He could have been closer with a clearer passage last start in the Qld Cup and can look to bounce back.

MAJOR FERNCO (1) steps up in grade for this battle and it will be at the 2138m which is not his preferred trip which is offset by the great alley. Runner-up to MACH DA VINCI 2 runs back, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: L L COOL J (7), SPEECH IS SILVER (5), KANENA PROVLIMA (3), MAJOR FERNCO (1)
SUGGESTED BET: L L COOL J (7) to win

RACE FIVE

Another tricky ballot division of the main qualifier where despite the wide gate, GOLIGHTLY (6) should appreciate this level of contest. From the pocket trail last start he tried to issue a closing challenge had to settle for the silver when 1m from OUR MAJOR DAY. The gate stings but in this grade, he can find the position to land a winning blow.

NOTORIOUS (1) lands the first punch courtesy of the ace gate. Beaten by gate 5 over the mile 2 starts back when retreating to find the poles, he eased to the pocket trail last start after a sizzling opening panel. With the options, he looks to get his chance.

LIFES BLACK (5) was asked to hang tough when parked over the Redcliffe 2040m 2 starts back and after the tough trip in a slick last 800m, was unable to finish it off. Back to the sprint trip last start, he charged home over the top for a stylish win and positioning cheaply here can throw it down.

SHADOW MINISTER (10) opted to take the trail last start and with the economical trip had the bullets to fire in claiming a passing lane victory. The gate makes it tricky, but he stays in the mix.

SELECTIONS: GOLIGHTLY (6), NOTORIOUS (1), LIFES BLACK (5), SHADOW MINISTER (10)
SUGGESTED BET: GOLIGHTLY (6) to win

RACE SIX

With just one previous attempt in this grade that resulted in victory, FRANCO HAMPTON (9) can look to make it 2 from 2. Starting from inside the 2nd line over the mile, he was soon off the pegs and into the running line before powering over the top for a stylish win. Bereft of luck from inside the 2nd line last time, he can bounce back hard here.

STOMPEM (4) started from gate 3 over the 2138m here 2 starts back and settling in the running line was making some good metres over the closing stages when within 2m of the winner SAM IS PERFECTION. Not too far from HANDSOME HERO last time out, he can be close enough to strike.

WATCH PULP FICTION (7) started from gate 10 last time in a mid-week event and was wide off the track when trying to chime in. Finishing with the silver when just 1m in arrears, he will again need to overcome the tough alley.

KEY LARGO (8) tackled a Band 5 contest last time out and was asked to roll the sleeves to do it the tough way. Fighting hard when just 3m from the winner, he has been in consistent form and will be searching for openings.

SELECTIONS: FRANCO HAMPTON (9), STOMPEM (4), WATCH PULP FICTION (7), KEY LARGO (8)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANCO HAMPTON (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

In a tricky mares race, the form runner is the poorly drawn SCOTTS RAIN (10) that has been a winner at 3 of her past 4 starts. Eased from gate 6 to secure position last start, she owned the best finishing power to cruise on by and claim an extending 6m winning margin. Pressing through, she can finish best once again.

MOLLYS SECRET (9) looked to be in a perfect position last start but was unable to go with them when the sprint went on, finishing mid-field. Luckless the start prior when gate 6 made it a tough ask after being forced to retreat, at her best she can be in the right spot to charge hard to challenge.

GET READY TO ROCK (5) pressed forward from gate 3 last start to find the front. Backing it off with a pedestrian 2nd panel, she tried to fight them off but could not repel SCOTTS RAIN. From the sticky alley she has podium claims.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (2) opted for the trail from gate 1 last time and unable to go with them late, used the passing lane to hold on for the bronze. Buried here 2 starts back, she can fire some early bullets.

SELECTIONS: SCOTTS RAIN (10), MOLLYS SECRET (9), GET READY TO ROCK (5), SHEZ ALL STYLE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SCOTTS RAIN (10) to win

RACE NINE

B MAC C (1)
is on the back-up from Tuesday where he sat in a rearward position in a small field. Angled to the outside in the stretch, he attacked the line smartly when 3m from the winner. Landing all the options from this gate, he seems best when taking the closing shot and he can be coiled and ready to strike.

BOMBADIER JUJON (5) worked home in nice order wider on the track to grab 2nd to KEAYANG MARVEN in the Band 5 heats before setting the first lap tempo in the Final. Releasing at the bell when the pressure came, he fought on for 3rd when 6m from GOVERNOR JUJON. The gate stings but he is up to the challenge.

HERBS HERO (2) secured the ideal trip in behind the leader here last time out and when turning for home had the arrows in the quiver to hit the bullseye. Runner-up over this trip 2 starts back, he is in the mix.

CHASING THE WIND (7) faces a tough ask from the carpark, but has really hit his straps in recent outings, the latest when just a half-neck from THE DEMOCRAT. With 4 wins in his previous 5 starts, he has exotic claims.

SELECTIONS: B MAC C (1), BOMBADIER JUJON (5), HERBS HERO (2), CHASING THE WIND (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-5-7

RACE TEN

An even trot over the 2138m stand to do battle here where IM THE COMMANDO (4) should relish the opportunity to start from the front tape. Game in defeat from the 20m last start after being sent forward, his run from 60m 3 starts back was big and this looks within his grasp with a safe getaway.

KINGDOM COME (6) has been hitting the line strongly the past 2 weeks from the mobile after easing back to the poles and the charging up the stretch. Grabbing the bronze behind RED CASTELTON 2 starts back, the small field suits and as a winner off 30m here 4 runs back, he looks graded to challenge.

MAJESTIC SIMON (9) shanghaied off the gate here last week under the mobile conditions from gate 6. Trying to see it out, he came up 2.5m short of the winner SIR FAHRENHEIT. That was an improvement on recent times.

CLAUDYS PRINCE (8) threw his chances away with an error last start from gate 1 and was never in the mix. Finding the line smartly here 2 starts back, from the 10m, he looks well-placed to feature.

SELECTIONS: IM THE COMMANDO (4), KINGDOM COME (6), MAJESTIC SIMON (9), CLAUDYS PRINCE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: IM THE COMMANDO (4) to win

RACE ELEVEN

It might be a field of just 6 but this looms as a complex contest to consider. Backing up from an effortless victory on Wednesday night at Redcliffe, GOLDIES A DELIGHT (1) lands all the favours courtesy of the ace alley. Only 6m away when resuming behind TEDDY DISCO, she held on for 3rd in the Triad Final after working hard in the breeze.

BANGKOK DEEJAY (2) was having just his 3rd start here last week in the feature race and first run back from a break. Getting it all wrong, his chances expired soon after the start. Trialling in top order for his return, he can look to turn it around.

RACY ROXY (5) has been runner-up at both starts since resuming in the feature 2YO events. 2nd in the Triad Final 3 starts back, her task is made no easier by the gate.

A case could be made for O B LEGAL (3) who finished off smartly last week and GOTTA GO MILKING (4) who claimed a slippery 1.55.4-mile win from the front last start against older rivals.

SELECTIONS: GOLDIES A DELIGHT (1), BANGKOK DEEJAY (2), RACY ROXY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GOLDIES A DELIGHT (1) to win
