RACE TWO JACKEROO SHANNON (7) will need some factors in his favour, but should they go his way, will be in the ideal position ready to make his charge. Eased from gate 5 here 2 starts back, he was deep in the pack when launching a late play for the bronze. Just needs to maintain momentum. ALTANA BLUE (8) started from the pole here last week over the 2040m when trying to see it out. Keen in the lead, he was gunned down in the closing stages with the winner coming off his back to take the prize. A gritty 2nd here 2 starts back, he might just be put into the contest mid-race. GO AWAY (4) sat at the rear of the pack here 2 starts back and when shown open road, attacked the line in the closing stages to arrive for the prize. Grabbing 3rd up the passing lane last start, she can feature. STUDLEIGH WILL (1) eventually worked to the front last start but spent some petrol getting there, leaving him floundering in the closing stages. With all the options this time, he can be sharper.
SELECTIONS: JACKEROO SHANNON (7), ALTANA BLUE (8), GO AWAY (4), STUDLEIGH WILL (1) SUGGESTED BET: JACKEROO SHANNON (7) to win
RACE THREE The start of this race will go a long way to deciding how it finishes and if RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (2) is allowed to cross to the front, he gets the chance to end a win drought extending close to 12 months. Only a half-neck away here 2 starts back via the passing lane, this is his best gate for some time, and he gets the chance to capitalise. GASMONKEY (1) has been in nice touch in recent outings, hitting the board at his past 4 in succession, the latest when making a closing raid to grab the silver behind BLUE IVY. Buried away before picking up some late metres when 3rd to HEMSWORTH 2 starts back, he will throw it down. ELMS CREEK (8) was sent forward to sit parked last start and was in for the fight when grinding out a tough 2nd behind PEBBLE SANDS. 3rd here 2 starts back, he can trail through early to chime in. IL MAXIMUS (3) eased from gate 5 last start to find the running line when trying to make a late rally as BLUE IVY claimed the prize. Strong to the line behind FIRE AND ICE the start prior, he is in the mix. SELECTIONS: RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (2), GASMONKEY (1), ELMS CREEK (8), IL MAXIMUS (3) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR MUCH BETTOR (5) tackled the AP 2138m last start where he was able to slide across to find the 1x1 trail from gate 5. Not shown open road until the top of the stretch, he attacked the line in nice style over the last 200m to grab 3rd when within 3m of the winner. Despite the wide gate he can arrive. BITCOIN (4) will strip fitter following his last start where he was first up from a spell. Eased from gate 5 to find the poles, he was making some metres in the closing stages to be 4m in arrears of the winner KENSINGTON BILL. He was in top form prior to the spell and can throw in a challenge here. TEDDY FEELS GOOD (1) joins the Shane Graham stable and arrives with 5 wins in 13 outings. A winner over the Menangle mile 2 starts back when breaking 1.52 from gate 9, he has not been seen in a public trial for his 1st start since July. ROCK BOTTOM (6) arrives with a last start 3rd from inside the 2nd line at Bathurst when hemmed away and chiming into the money late. A 12-time winner, the gate stings for his first look at The Triangle. SELECTIONS: MUCH BETTOR (5), BITCOIN (4), TEDDY FEELS GOOD (1), ROCK BOTTOM (6) SUGGESTED BET: MUCH BETTOR (5) to win
RACE FIVE A GOOD IDEAL (2) started in red figures here last start from gate 3 but was unable to muster the speed to get across. Finding cover, he tried to launch a closing raid that came up a half-neck short. He looks to get the front here and taking control he will give them plenty to chase. WEDDING NIGHT (9) was sent forward to sit parked last start from gate 4 and despite the tough trip proved too strong to pull clear to a 4m victory. That made it 2 wins in her past 3 starts. The 2nd line will make it tougher here but with the right cart into the contest, she can look to challenge. WAVEDANCER (6) was eased from this gate last start to settle near the rear of the pack before making late ground to grab the silver. Despite the tough gate once again, he can chime in. PRIVATE JUJON (3) has been working home in nice style in his races, placing in 3 of his past 4 outings. Charging home from deep in the pack when runner-up here 2 back, he can feature again. RACE SIX ARTISTIC SAINT (5) has been hitting good areas in recent outings and after 3 successive placings, franked the form with successive victories. Pressing on from gate 4 to take control here last week. Once in front he held them throughout to claim a 4m winning margin. The gate is a little tougher this week, but he is up for the threepeat. MACH TORQUE (1) started from this alley last time out and soon after the start released for the trail and was trying to make a closing raid when 4m in arrears of the winner ARTISTIC SAINT. Beaten by the 2nd line as IM JIMMY JAMES saluted the start prior, she has the gate to make the challenge. BLOOD MONEY (2) arrives from Bathurst in search of a QBRED Bonus and will be first up since May. A winner here last season, he has opened the pipes in a pair of trials and can feature fresh. HEY MISTER TAYLOR (6) was midfield last start when returning from a freshen, eased to the poles after starting from this same gate and chasing home ARTISTIC SAINT. The gate stings again. SELECTIONS: ARTISTIC SAINT (5), MACH TORQUE (1), BLOOD MONEY (2), HEY MISTER TAYLOR (6) SUGGESTED BET: ARTISTIC SAINT (5) to win
RACE SEVEN MAYWYN MACDUFF (2) resumes from a break to kick off his 3YO term. Breaking the maiden status with a gritty win when parked here last start back in June, he was shut down after the victory. With a handy trial against some experienced performers, he finds the right conditions to return with a win. SENORA JUJON (4) has been freshened since her last appearance in mid-December when easing from this same alley to settle back in the pack. Unable to warm up over the closing stages when finishing midfield, she opened her account with a win here 4 starts back and can challenge in this. JOY MAKER (5) started from the 2nd line last start when settling in the running line and finishing not too far from the winner in a messy end to the race. The gate stings but she can chime in. ROGERVALERIO LOMBO (7) was first up in almost 2 years when scoring at his first appearance in Qld here 2 starts back. Asked to sit parked last start as the race favourite, he wilted and can be sharper here. SELECTIONS: MAYWYN MACDUFF (2), SENORA JUJON (4), JOY MAKER (5), ROGERVALERIO LOMBO (7) SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYN MACDUFF (2) to win
RACE EIGHT KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (8) was first up for the new stable last week when settling rearward and watching the action unfold from gate 9. When put into the contest, she rounded them up quickly, swept by and pulled clear to the easiest of 16m victories. This looks no harder, and she is the one. DEVELSTIX (2) started from the pole last start and after keeping them wide early, released for the trail. Caught behind the leader that was floundering as KOOKABURRAPRINCESS zoomed by, he eventually found the space to be best of the chasers behind the big winner. He can place again. ABERCROMBIE TAB (5) made the most of gate 1 here last week to keep them wide early and try to take them all the way. Sharing the win in a dead-heat finish, he was luckless the start prior and has claims again. CHASIN DREAMZ (3) will take some further benefit from her latest start where she was 2nd up from a spell. Angled to the poles in a much tougher event, it was a sound effort and she can chime in here. SELECTIONS: KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (8), DEVELSTIX (2), ABERCROMBIE TAB (5), CHASIN DREAMZ (3) SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 8 / 2-3-4-5
RACE NINE BLACKJACK SHAZ (4) finished the year in fine style to round out her 2YO term with successive wins. MISS MAGDALENA (1) started from outside the 2nd line last start, settling in the running line before making some late ground to grab the silver behind the red figure hotpot GUNNA NEEDAMARGARITA. Hitting the line smartly at The Creek 2 starts back after retreating from gate 6, the gate here helps. THE HARRIS HAWK (3) resumes from a spell without a public hit out in readiness. Last seen taking on a mixed age event when asked to grind it out sitting parked, he can feature in his first 3YO outing. IM A CLASSY GIRL (7) should enjoy the economical trip from this alley. Placed in 4 of her past 5 starts all here at The Triangle, she will be searching for the gaps to chime into the action. SELECTIONS: BLACKJACK SHAZ (4), MISS MAGDALENA (1), THE HARRIS HAWK (3), IM A CLASSY GIRL (7) SUGGESTED BET: BLACKJACK SHAZ (4),
RACE TEN MULLUM GUIDO (9) has placed in both starts to date, the latest from inside the 2nd line. Locked away in the run, he was making good metres in the closing stages to grab the bronze which followed a green performance on debut where he finished off nicely. In a tricky maiden he might be the one. MIKIYOURSOFINE (3) started from gate 4 here last start. Finding position midfield, he made a move in the latter stages to get within 6m of the winner and grab the silver. Showing steady improvement, which was his 2nd run here at Redcliffe and 4th overall and with added experience can challenge.
