RACE TWO After one run back from a let up, AWAYWEGO (1) lands the gate to get on the board with his first win of the 3YO season. Looking to take them all the way last start, he was gunned down by BANGKOK DEEJAY in a slick closing panel. He has every opportunity to dictate. CLASS TO THE MAX (4) rolled forward from gate 6 last start and was obliged to sit parked when fighting hard and going under at a red figure quote. Huge in defeat the start prior at Redcliffe after copping heat throughout, he looks set to roll the sleeves again to make his challenge. BEACH MAGIC (2) can dart in behind the leader soon after the start here to enjoy the cosy trip on offer. Coming out of the same BANGKOK DEEJAY race, he can fill the minors. MISTER CAUTIOUS (5) has placed at his past 4 in succession, the latest when 3rd after grafting it out in the breeze and finishing within 2m of the 2nd placed AWAYWEGO. The gate stings for this.
SELECTIONS: AWAYWEGO (1), CLASS TO THE MAX (4), BEACH MAGIC (2), MISTER CAUTIOUS (5) SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1 / 2-4-5
RACE THREE RACY ROXY (2) returns from a spell following a nice last start 3rd behind LEAP TO FAME in a 2YO event where she did some early work to secure position. Only 1m from TEDDY DISCO 4 starts back, she has opened the pipes with a smart trial and can open the 3YO ledger with victory. GOLDIES A DELIGHT (1) was last seen back in November when trying to eat into the deficit but defeated by a wide gate as LEAP TO FAME took the prize. Runner-up to BANGKOK DEEJAY the start prior, she has all the options here to make her play. ROCKNROLL TIMES (7) has no favours from the wide gate but will have the fitness edge should any of the main players be vulnerable. Grabbed late last start after setting the tempo, he can feature. MELTON BEACH (5) finally broke through for his first victory last start after finding the front and pulling clear for the easiest of victories. A beaten fav at his previous 3 in succession, he can place. SELECTIONS: RACY ROXY (2), GOLDIES A DELIGHT (1), ROCKNROLL TIMES (7), MELTON BEACH (5) SUGGESTED BET: RACY ROXY (2) to win
RACE FOUR THE HERVEY BAY (7) had no luck at all here last week when rolling forward from gate 7 after being three-wide the opening 600m but repelled for the position outside the leader. Retreating to the rear, he closed out in nice order for 3rd behind the smart win of SOHO SINATRA. Despite needing to work early, this looks within reach. BRACKEN KNIGHT (2) was first up in Qld off the back of a spell here last week and nothing went his way after starting from inside the 2nd line. Soon buried in the run, he lost any momentum and chance when hemmed away with the leader hoisting the white flag. He can challenge in an open contest. ZHUKOV LEIS (1) eased to the poles last start with the speed out wide zooming across and the leader BIG WHEELS claiming the victory. With all the options he can feature. KING TRITON (5) will take benefit from his last start when resuming from a spell. Snagged back to the rear from gate 5, he was always facing a task and can be an improver in this. SELECTIONS: THE HERVEY BAY (7), BRACKEN KNIGHT (2), ZHUKOV LEIS (1), KING TRITON (5) SUGGESTED BET: THE HERVEY BAY (7) to win
RACE FIVE Looking for his first win of the season, the good alley can help MAYWYN TROUBADOR (1) open his account. Beaten by an inside 2nd line gate last time after working away from the poles and making a run wide off the track, he was collared in the closing strides 2 starts back, with a sub 27 opener doing the damage. WOODLANDS WONDER (8) was buried in the run last time out after retreating to secure position after starting from gate 5. Probing for openings, he was strong to the line in grabbing 3rd which had followed a tidy effort behind ROCK BOTTOM. Stalking the speed, he will just need momentum. MOTU AMETHYST (3) fired out before taking a trail last start and with the cosy trip had the bullets to fire up the passing lane. From the gate she can be handy enough to feature. AYE AYE CAPTAIN (7) was buried behind a wall of horses here last week and never saw the space to make a play. A winner the start prior when powering over the top, the gate dents his hopes. SELECTIONS: MAYWYN TROUBADOR (1), WOODLANDS WONDER (8), MOTU AMETHYST (3), AYE AYE CAPTAIN (7) SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYN TROUBADOR (1) to win
RACE SIX JIGAMAROO (8) has the 2nd line options here as the lone runner off the back and can look to plot his own course. Having his first start in Qld last time out when eased from gate 3 to secure position, the run had merit when nothing really ate into the deficit as SQUARE DEALER led throughout. He can sneak home with this. SLIDE TO UNLOCK (4) was having her outing over the AP 2138m last start when sliding back early from outside the front line before leading up the three-wide train. Fighting to the wire to be just a head in arrears, it followed a gritty Tamworth victory, and she will be throwing it down in this. CATCH PHRASE (1) took on a mare’s qualifier on Saturday night where she was angled to the poles from gate 3 for the shortcuts. 6m from the winner PIPPA MAGUIRE, the gate is a big plus here. ALI DOWNUNDER (6) tackled a qualifier last start when easing from a wide gate and trying to make ground wide out when down the line. Back to this grade of contest looks a suitable play. SELECTIONS: JIGAMAROO (8), SLIDE TO UNLOCK (4), CATCH PHRASE (1), ALI DOWNUNDER (6) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN After hitting the line in nice order at his first appearance after crossing the Tasman, SLIP THE HUNDY (5) franked the effort with a strong win here last start. Heavily supported to run deep into the red, he was sent forward to take control and then was never in danger. He can look for a repeat. IM JIMMY JAMES (1) started from outside the 2nd line last start when back in the pack and trying to launch a closing raid as SLIP THE HUNDY dictated. Just 2m from the winner CALL ME KEITH the start prior from the pocket trail, he can be looking to make a challenge. SHADOW MINISTER (2) held on for 3rd last start behind JUDDY DOUGLAS after sitting in the trail but could not get into the margin. From the gate he can be close enough to feature. OHOKA JIMMY (10) faces a tricky gate, but his effort last start had merit when under 3m from the winner ROLL ONE OVER. He can chime in with the right trail into the contest. SELECTIONS: SLIP THE HUNDY (5), IM JIMMY JAMES (1), SHADOW MINISTER (2), OHOKA JIMMY (10) SUGGESTED BET: SLIP THE HUNDY (5) to win
RACE EIGHT Still searching for his first win since arriving in the Sunshine State, DIKERRY (11) is afforded no favours from this alley, but might just secure the right trip to sneak home with the prize. Eased from gate 5 last start, he was strong to the line for 3rd, his 3rd minor in 5 attempts here at The Creek. MAJORDOIT (5) was sent forward from outside the front line here last start and asked to roll the sleeves to grind it out when parked. In for the fight, he was only 8m in arrears of the winner which followed a sound effort in a strong Saturday night event. He finds the conditions to challenge here. EH EF EL (1) eased from gate 5 last start and was soon at the rear of the pack and unable to improve position as GOODTIME COWBOY took them all the way. The gate aids his chances here. JUMPING JOLT (4) is racing in nice touch as he searches for his first win in 18 months. Holding the pocket trail last start, he held 3rd behind HEMSWORTH and can podium again here. SELECTIONS: DIKERRY (11), MAJORDOIT (5), EH EF EL (1), JUMPING JOLT (4) SUGGESTED BET: DIKERRY (11) to win
