Jedda Cutlack’s eyes light up when she speaks about Tungsten Miss.
The emerging greyhound trainer has been in stunning form of late – preparing 12 winners from her last 50 starters.
An exciting youngster by the name of Tungsten Miss has accounted for a percentage of those.
Going by prize money won, Cutlack is ranked 26th across Australia and New Zealand this year with $86,310 earnt by her kennel of chasers from 17 winners in 2022.
The brindle bitch, Tungsten Miss, was unbeaten in her first seven career events – including the Group 2 Bogie Leigh Futurity – which gave the up-and-coming trainer her first triumph at Group level.
Now back at Ipswich – where she is undefeated in three tries, Tungsten Miss goes in search of the Ipswich Auction Sprint Series.
From a Fernando Bale and Miss Lauryn litter, Tungsten Miss qualified for Saturday night’s semi-final with a 24.93-second win in last weeks heats.
“Tungsten Miss is really exciting, having won her first seven straight,” Cutlack said.
“She was a bit unlucky in the Group 1 Gold Bullion heats (her only career loss to date) but it was a big step up in class for her.
“I was excited to bring her back here to Ipswich, she likes the track and she came out and did everything right last start and ran a good time.”
Having been around the dogs for the last four years, the Park Ridge South-based conditioner believes Tungsten Miss is as promising as any greyhound she has ever worked with.
“One hundred percent she is one of the best dogs I have trained, giving me my first Group wins,” Cutlack said.
“You never expect them to be undefeated in their first couple of starts – let alone seven – so we were lucky in that respect.
“But she has always been quick out of the boxes and that will win you more races than it won’t.
“She has always shown some ability but probably not enough to think she has the record she does. We are enjoying it.”
She also claimed the Dave Brett Memorial Final as well as the Corporate Dollars Challenge Final in the early stages of her racing life.
